Ok, now that we've established which picks you own, let us assume that you decide to keep Miguel Cabrera, Jose Bautista, Justin Upton, and Gio Gonzalez.


Miguel Cabrera obviously has 1st round keeper value.


Jose Baustia was kept last year by 4ML. If you keep him a subsequent year, he would now have 3/2 = 1.5 = rounded up to 2. 2nd ROUND Keeper Value. Even though you acquired him via trade, his keeper round value still moves from 3rd round value to 2nd round value.

Justin Upton had 4th round keeper value last year. This year he has 2nd round keeper value. However, since Jose Baustia was slotted ahead of him as your 2nd round keeper, Upton would slide to your 3rd round keeper. This is completely plausible since you still retain your 3rd round pick as we've discussed above.


Your draft board would look like this


1st rounder (yours) - Miguel Cabrera (keeper)
2nd rounder (yours) - Jose Baustia (keeper)
3rd rounder (yours) - Justin Upton (keeper)
5th rounder (yours) -
5th rounder (jrg) -
6th rounder (yours) - Gio Gonazalez (keeper)
...and so on

If you did NOT have a 2nd round pick or 3rd round pick however, because you traded it away, well then it would be a different story.

I wouldnt say hands down. When Strasburg goes down his team could be vulnerable. His hitting isnt close to mine when my team is at full strength.
