A juggernaut falls: Most surprising/disappointing season-ending collapse

I know I know, no one REALLY cares about the disappointments of someone else's fantasy team, but it's the middle of the night and this will be cathartic. Hopefully this thread can be a similar outlet for others, even though probably no one will read other people's long-winded rants.

After a so-so draft and a lot of trade/waiver activity, I ended up coming down the stretch with this team in a 12-team league with relatively standard ESPN scoring and modest money on the line.

Drew Brees
Doug Martin
Jamaal Charles
Vincent Jackson
Calvin Johnson
Flex*
Jimmy Graham
Justin Tucker
DST*

*Wes Welker or Bryce Brown down the stretch for flex. At DST I drafted the 49ers and managed to acquire the Broncos for my playoff run.

I finished the regular season 10-4, first in standings, and first in points, averaging 110 per game (118 per game weeks 5-14).

As you all know, Brees, Martin, Charles, Vincent, and Graham entered week 15 with dream match-ups. Megatron had a middling match-up with a decent Cardinals pass D. I started Bryce Brown over Welker (only cost me 1 point it turned out) and the Broncos over the 49ers (gained me 1 point).

Brees emerges from a puzzling 7-game fantasy slump to have a huge day, and what happens to the rest of my dream team with their cushy match-ups? The rest of my roster COMBINES to add 56.9 to Brees's 32.3. My 89.2 is my lowest since week 3. My opponent puts up 116.9 (lower than my 118 "average") relying on middling skill players (at least in the 2012 fantasy world) Matt Forte, Green-Ellis, Steven Jackson, Eric Decker, Steve Smith, and Owen Daniels. Ironically, while my QB experienced a wake-up performance, my opponent only got 19.9 from Cam Newton who had averaged a sickening 38.8 in weeks 12-14.

C'est la vie.
Yep that's fantasy football. s**t sucks sometimes.
holy s**t your team was stacked

but that's fantasy football for you. Its better to be lucky than good
i replaced my kicker mid-week... dude got me 25 points lol s**t happens
In my experience the top seed almost always gets eliminated. Has happened the past three years in my league. This year was no exception. I'm the 8th seed and knocked off a the number 1. Happens like that.

its luck / match-ups.

I was 12-1 last year and I won it all in my money league.
In the championship again this year with the #1 seed.

Best teams usually win out.

My match-ups couldn't have been better and this is my most stacked team ever. That's why it's such a bummer! My luck ran out at the wrong time.
