OK.. SO Pete is the commish then and we can help setting up rules. Pete, I think we should set up a group of your choosing to set the rules.
You can decide who you want in since you are gonna do the work. Here are the list of guys that I have:
1) Pete - commish
2) Ninerjohn
3) Rabbit
4) Boise
5) James
6) Rose
7) Sac (not sure if anyone has asked him yet)
2-7 all guys who have been in the WZ and Crazys league for the entirety
8) 4ML - been in Crazys league for entire time
9) Garce - both leagues last year
10) Rubs.. WZ league and member of High Rollers in FB
11) Finch - some reservations but he was in WZ league last 2 years
12) Knowledge - WZ league for last couple
13) Sincal - regular poster but not a fantasy player in here
14) Ninerlifer - been in both leagues but he really messed up last year. Good until then though
Not sure if I am forgetting anyone and my apologies to them if I am.
By Sac, do you mean sacniner? If so, I will PM him. We'll go with the first 12, and sincal will be the first alternate in case Sac says no.
We'll have a 3 member committee of John, James, & Rabbit that will be responsible for setting up the rules of the league. Input from others is welcome, but they're the deciding votes. These are the items that you'll need to settle. Feel free to add if I'm forgetting something.
1) Draft date - This will be a WZ draft, as coordinating a time that works for everyone can be a nightmare. Let's try to time it so it would end about 1 week prior to opening day.
2) Roster size, position designations, size of bench vs. starters - My understanding is that there's a good deal of luck in a lot of baseball leagues, depending on how often a stud starting pitcher goes over a 7 day stretch. Try to mitigate against that and other "cheesy" ways of winning, if it's possible.
3) Waivers - Focus on something that's equitable and prevents people from gaming the system.
4) Scoring settings - Same instructions as #3. H2H or Roto?
5) Number of Keepers - I'd like it be enough to where it has the feel of a Dynasty League, but not too many so that you're screwed if you draft poorly in the first year. I'd also like to explore the idea of having the option of keeping a player & surrendering a pick vs. keeping a pick instead. I'll leave that up to you guys though.
6) Playoffs/Byes
7) Entry Fee & Prize Money - I'd like money to go to 1st, 2nd, & 3rd place, but not beyond that.
