That said, I think the "contracts" have to transfer in trades. So if I keep a dude for 2 years and then trade to someone else, he can only keep him for 1 year. Otherwise I think you just have teams strategically swapping superstars after 2.5 years and then they get to keep them for 3 more.

If released or re-drafted, I think a fresh 3 years is cool.

Just my two cents. As always, won't complain either way.
