Since when is there a limit for how many years we can keep a player? Im not sure I agree with that.

You arent part of the panel and have no say. Sorry

Where did this panel come from? Why is this the first I've heard of it?

Why was there no mention of this rule prior to the draft order?

Now there is a vote? I thought the rule was already made?

Why limit the vote to this stupid panel? It should be a league vote. A 5 person vote makes no sense.

We will have 3 keepers in this league. You will sacrifice the round in next years draft where you selected your keeper. If a FA is kept then next year a 23rd rd selection will be forfeited.

Hey John, does the round escalate over time? Or if I take Billy Bob Thompson in the 20th round, I can keep him for my 20th forever.

You can have Billy Bob for 3 total years at the round you took him. After that, the player goes back into the pool. How would that work for you ?

Lets get a vote from the fantasy panel. What say you.
James?
Rabbit?
Boise?
Sac?
Rose?

I'm in for that. You keep the guy based on where he was drafted for the duration of his time on your team, but you can only keep a guy for 3 years.

That way you are rewarded for finding a gem in a later round, but you're also not allowed to control that player for the entire time this league goes on.
The panel is John, James, & Rabbit. The end.

I left Rabbit a PM to discuss. This should have been done already and it slipped through the cracks. Thats my fault.

Who even knows if this league will be around in 4 years. Hard to say. But. I agree with the logic that James just layed out and unless Rabbit thinks differently and can change our minds (which is possible) then we will go that direction.

The league fees have been paid, the draft order and score setting set

Something like this needs to be a league vote not decided by only 3/12 managers.
I'd agree with a time limit on keeping players and linking keepers to the round they were drafted in. Seems fair.
Garcia, are you in contract talks yet with the first overall pick?

Its a pretty big detail for the league. That shouldn't be left to a minority vote this late in the game. The draft is days away.

Pete, I would like to suggest this be brought to an official league vote please, in fairness to all the managers.
Just checked in. For the record, keeping keepers forever is the dumbest thing I have ever heard. I hate it. 100% hate it. Expressed the same view in our football thread. It makes it stale after a while. Stale as the Alex Smith debate. Maybe more.

Listen my words. I was sent here to make you guys better men.

I personally don't have a preference Im fine with either route, but I'm a man of liberty and fairness.

LOL RIght
FWIW I liked the escalating system as the price to pay for a keeper. Keeping Trout as a 13th rounder or whatever it was for one year was fine but it was only fair to pay at least a 7th round for him the following year. If majority is against it though I can live without out, it's just a preference. 3-year limit is fine with me too, I'm with Rubs when it comes to that.

Im good with whatever we decide to do I'm just ready to start drafting my championship team.
If we were to have keepers for only 3 years, how does that affect trades?

Does the keeper clock reset? Does it stay the same?
