Two Keeper Fantasy PPR League - Who to Keep Number 2

Two Keeper Fantasy PPR League - Who to Keep Number 2

Well, I'm keeping Barkley, which was my top producer. I have to list another keeper, but it must be at a different position.

Jackson is hopefully going to be a top 5 QB, who also gets points with his feet.

Kittle is - well, he's Kittle. He pulled me out of some losses last year.
Easy one. Kittle. Good TEs are hard to field. And with no gronk. Kittle likely to jump to round 3ish in redrafts. Right there woth ertz and kelce.

While i like Deshaun you can get great FF QB any round. But if you miss out on a top 3 or so TE you'll be searching ALL YEAR
Watson was 7th in FPG at 24
19th rated QB had 21 FPG

Kittle was 3rd at 16 FPG
5th rated TE was at 12 FPG.

so you already gain 1 FPG just from kittle to the 5th guy.

And that just if you get a top TE

I dont like keeping a quarterback or a tight end to be honest. But I would lean the tight end because there are really only 3-4 top options for next year. And its fun to have your team's players on your fantasy squad.

Apologies - can you explain this a little more please?
First i want to start off by saying the numbers ive used (and will be using) are based off my league where pass TDs are worth 6 points.

So in my league Deshaun watson scored an average of 24 fantasy points per game. Good for 7th best QB. In contrast the 19th best QB scored an average of 22 fantasy point per game.

So what this means is there is a high probability that you can be the last team to select a QB (9th- 11th round) and you'll still grab a QB that scores comparably to Watson. Hell a high probability your backup will as well.

On to Kittle. Kittle was the 3rd highest scoring TE in my league at 16 fantasy points per game. The 5th highest scoring TE scored 12 fantasy points per game. The 12th highest scoring TE was all the way down to 9.4 fantasy pounts per game.

Which means the gap widens a hell of alot faster at the TE position than it does the QB position. You will have to grab ertz, kelce, kittle no later than 4th round.

If you wait to be the last one to take a TE you will be at a disadvantage all year unless you get lucky on the breakout guy. If you wait to be the last to take a QB you SHOULD still be ok.

With this as a 2 keeper league you DEFINITELY want to keep any non QBs. You will already be down alot of talent from the pool. I guarantee Ertz and Kelce will be kept making Kittle top TE if you dont keep him. And he will go in your 1st round

Just my opinion

I really appreciate it krizay. That all makes sense. There is a big drop-off in TE, and not a big drop-off in QB.

The only hesitation that I had is just how much of a breakout that Watson appeared to be when he started in 2017. He came back to earth in 2018. If his 2018 was projected from the games he played in 2017 then Watson might be a very high end QB with a bigger drop-off to the other QBs.

I reached 3rd place out of 12 last year, and Kittle was a big part of it. Also it's always fun rooting for a 49er! I'm just never used to keeping a TE.

My roster in 2018 had
Watson
my star RBs Elliot and Barkley (I must choose 2 keepers and they must be of different positions otherwise this would be obvious)
Kittle
and I limped by with bad WRs after Landry from Cleveland

Yep - it was a bit tough for me, with Elliot and Barkley. Barkley has such a harrrrible team.
