How people liking/disliking roster and scoring set up?

next year I'll probably boost IR from 1 to 3 spots. Personally I like deep benches in nhl, cant stand it when top players are always free agents…but maybe just me

Having 4 IR spots is a lot, IMO. I also would prefer one more D and one less C/W.

You already have IR at 4. I agree with adding an extra D spot. Though I wouldn't want to lose a W spot.

I'd say,

3 C's
6 W's
4 D's
2 G's
8 Bench
2 IR

That is essentially adding a D spot and converting 2 IR into 2 bench

I like the sound of that. IR is important to guard against losing guys like Kucherov like I have, but maybe not so you can just stash injured players for a super team at the end of the year

2 is probably about right.

fwiw the reason D is 3 because in scoring format, a 4th D has almost no impact (assuming all people are active in FA, which they unfortunately aren't)

for example Gudas has same points as Cirelli at 72

with 4th D, top D FA would be Anderson at 59 points.

So there'd be a significant value differential

but if people want it I'd do it. It will make FA D relatively worthless whereas now FA market is balanced

edit: for example in 4D it's probably mathematically advantageous to leave a D starter spot empty and carry an extra F or G. Only way I can change it is by making blocks ridiculously valuable

Stick with how it is then, maybe next year we chuck in 10-20 bucks to give an incentive to keep active?

Commish, is there any chance of getting rid of the 4 Goalie appearance rule? Really tough with all the postponements, and it's not an advantage to bench Goalies anyway.
