Nobody else did, either. Then, some guy named Bill Walsh went "scouring.."

Mississippi Valley?

Tennessee-Chattanooga and Delaware State.

Now thats a scouting department!

Yep. One is the best player of all time. One may very well be the 2nd best receiver ever, and the other is one of the best #2 receivers ever and very well could have been most teams #1.

I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that the Mississippi Valley State guy claimed the Delaware State guy could be better than him if he had the same work ethic, which nobody has ever had. The Tenn-Chattanooga guy always had his "popcone ready."

Confused me, too.

It's a little too bright for me... I feel blinded when it loads.

Maybe I need to go outside more often....

Yeah he said that in his book. I think he was being modest.

I think Taylor was more physically gifted so it's not completely unbelievable, but nobody outworked Jerry - and that's why he's the GOAT.

Taylor would be in the Hall of Fame as a starter on another team.

I will never forget Taylors two 90 yard runs against the Rams, one of my favorite 49er.

the guy from Delaware State didn't care with his truck drives mentality yet he still produced and was never truly really appreciated.

yeah, their receiving corps was hurting.
Armon Binns, the WR from Cincinnati is still available. He's a big guy at 6'3" 210lbs with good speed and leaping ability. Reminds me a bit of Josh Morgan.

Better question:

Do we really need more WRs?

From ESPN, they gave him a 2 out of 5 on Ball Skills with 1 being highest, 5 lowest:

Big hands and can snatch the ball out of the air. Tracks the deep ball well and can make over-the shoulder catches without breaking stride. Can open hips and adjust to passes thrown outside frame. Times leaps well and can win in one-on-one jump ball situations . However, will have an occasional mental lapse and drop a few throws he should make.
