The Baltimore Sun reports that the Ravens have "strong interest" in free agent Malcom Floyd.
They clearly prefer Floyd to free agent Braylon Edwards. Floyd turns 30 before the season, but can stretch the field with a career yards-per-reception average of 17.27. He also broke into the league with the Chargers when Ravens offensive coordinator Cam Cameron held the same position in San Diego back in 2004

The chances of him coming to SF with Alex Smith as our starting QB, were slim to none anyways.
Ravens or 49ers: Who would you choose? It's obvious we should give up all hope of him coming here. I'm not that worried about it though. Our heavy use of TE's in this offense essentially makes Vernon a WR (the #1 at that...) and Crabtree the #2.
Our 3-wide I-formation is basically... Crabtree ------ OL OL OL OL OL ---- Vernon --- Morgan, where in most other offenses it would be a WR.
It's kind of interesting actually -- our two-TE sets can be shifted into a 4-WR set instantly, due to the speed of Walker and Davis.

It's certainly going to create matchup problems for opposing defenses. It's either bring in the nickle package for coverage help, and risk Gore running all over the place, or, keep the linebackers in to deal with Davis, and Walker...
Actually him coming here he can better solidify himself with more PT and perhaps a starting role rather dealing with sharing time with Boldin and TJ Houshmanzeda. Plus the Ravens already spent a 2nd rounder on a WR this year.

They need to sign this guy. Let's see if he can turn into a solid starter. I can see him taking Morgan's spot. The risk with him is you wonder if he's a system guy b/c everybody in that Chargers offense were making catches.
