moss is an up grade to what we had. he may not catch 80+ this season, but he will keep a safety over top and give other guys room to work. i think we will still draft a WR high (rounds 1-3) and work him in. i love the moss signing and think he will really help this team.

Very, very intriguing. Can't help but feel some excitement over this signing... cautiously optimistic.

"I think when it comes to the world-wide sports media, I've gotten a bad rap . . . not being a team player and things like that," Moss said. Although Moss has been out for a full year and didn't look like he had much left when he played in 2010, he says he's going to be the Moss of old with the 49ers. "I'm ready to go," Moss said. "I think you can hear from my last workout with the Saints and here today with the 49ers, I'm ready to get back into the game of football. I think I can still play at a high level. So I look forward to learning the offense and getting with the group of guys in the locker room and learning what my role is going to be on this team. Like I said, I accept the challenge, and I'm ready to bring the fans out of their seats."

I am sure this deal is similar to the one Braylon Edwards got...the team will still go about the draft as planned. This makes the offense more dynamic and he may not put up big numbers but will be a body that defenses will have to account for on the field...he is exactly what this team lacked last year.

Randy seems sincere in his intentions to make this opportunity work. Let's hope he sticks to that mindset. One thing is for sure, we will learn a lot about Alex Smith. Was his trouble throwing deep due to a weak arm, or receivers who just couldn't get deep? He seemed to be able to hit Vernon on deep routes pretty consistantly throughout the playoffs. Maybe all be needs is a big target out there. We shall see.
