What are your thoughts on Matt Flynn?

I've seen other places saying he will go to seattle and the seahawks fans are ECSTATIC! I just dont get it though. He's played 2 games, 1 was good and 1 was great, but that is still only 2 games. How can you expect a team to throw a long term multi MILLION dollar contract towards a player that has only started 2 games? What say everyone?

He may be great... idk... I just cant buy the hype based on 2 games... cant do it.
kinda looks like matt damon with down syndrome
Kevin kolb syndrome. So I hope they sign him.

This. Doesn't have a very strong arm, prone to errors/turnovers, will try to force the ball into tight spaces, even if nothing is there. He'll probably perform a little better than Jackson but at what he'll cost them, Carroll's job could very well be attached to it.
interesting that the browns have totally backed away from any involvement with flynn--what does holmgren know?
Really don't know anything except the 2 games foor thhe Packers. Not enough to comment either way BUT the Seahawks are not thee Packers and we can beat the Packers and we will beat the Hawks w/Flynn or w/out Flynn.
Watched a clip of Lombardi and La Confora talking about how the market for Flynn wasnt as big as what they expected, basically only Seattle and Miami want him and nowhere near the money they thought that teams would throw at him. Saying something a little more than back up money.
I initially thought w/Holmgren's ties to the Packers the Browns would pursue him BUT maybe they gave the walrus some inside info that made him decide not to go afer Flynn.

I know quality players can come from anywhere (i.e. Tom Brady in the 6th and on the bench for some time) but the fact the he wasn't picked until day 3, played in only 2 games both against some of the worst pass defenses in recent memory and he lost one of them as well.....Whats the hype??? Are we just forcing the guy to be the next big story???

Not to mention the joke about Aaron Rodgers being a system QB because his back played so well can be applied to Flynn as well. He had 3 years before one of his starts, 4 years before his 2nd and has pretty much had the same main WR/TE combo since he was drafted. To not have at worst, marginal success in 2 starts after that kind of wait and preparation would probably get a guy canned.

Flynn is the next big free agent bust waiting to happen. He'd have to go to a team with a superbowl quality coaching staff, and at least 2 very legitimate #1 type targets to succeed. Not to mention a decent defense because he wouldn't win shootouts like that all the time.

I pray to god he goes to Seattle where he will have Sidney Rice for 3 games, and then have to throw to Doug Baldwin(yes he is good but not that good lol) and Brandon Tate for an entire season. We'd crush them.
his immediate sucess speaks volumes about the packers system and recieving core personal.... durabillity , quality of play under durress , consistancy .... all are quaterback qulitys that can only be acuratly evaluated after a season or two of play so...... til then ......HYPE

Well this is how it should be. We will give you a chance to compete for a starting job, something that won't happen in GB. If you perform we will talk about getting you paid. I am just so against signing someone that performed well for two games in another system with different players. Want to know what you will bring to my franchise before I declare you via a huge contract our franchise QB.

How often do other teams backup QBs go to other teams to start immediately and have success. I can't think of one personally. The most recent ones that were hyped up were Cassell and Kolb... now Flynn.
