Agree with all of this. I'd be perfectly fine trading our 2nd round pick for Garoppolo.

Imagine walking into day 1 of the draft with our FQB already in hand and being able to grab Garrett or Allen at #2 or...

trading back with the Browns (assuming they take Garrett at #1) who are looking to jump Chicago and NYJ for a QB and walking away with their 8th pick, their 2nd, 3rd and next year's 1st? Browns end up with Garrett and their FQB and we'd be able to end up with our FQB, our #1 WR while now having an early 2nd round pick and two early 3rd round picks on Day 2

Just curious. In this scenario why wouldn't the Browns just trade their second round pick for Garoppolo instead of 2 firsts, a second, and a third to draft a rookie?

Because they believe in that rookie more would be the only scenario, also... I'd take more than a second for Jimmy.

They wouldn't have a choice if we cut a better deal to land Garoppolo and beat them to it. Cleveland has more ammo but if they either don't like him more than a prospect or aren't aggressive early enough to land him in a trade then they need the draft.

jimmy has proven he can hold his own in the nfl. The other two havnt. so think about it a qb who has proven he can throw every ball in the nfl, in the second. Or someone at who might not even be able to play at this level. and get an instant impact at 2. Watson or trubs at 2 vs jimmy g and any top 5 players is obviously a better decision

I'll guess Cleveland is thinking the same thing. If they were to acquire Garoppolo they are definitely free to take Garrett and not have to worry about what QBs may or may not be available.

Imagine them walking out with Garoppolo, Garrett and Fournette or Dalvin Cook.

I would be calling them about Duke Johnson right quick if they did that.

id be very jealous but then I think about the organization they are going to and could honestly see them being wasted talent..

Pats may not want to trade their QB within the conference (unlikely but still).

I think CLE takes Allen at #1 to be honest. Garrett is the consensus #1 but they need DL help bad and Allen is in that elite, game changing category with Garrett. CLE has more ammo with two top 10s and two 2nds to pull off a trade for Garoppolo but I think they draft either QB or Allen. Hue wants "his" guy after a season like this

Money. $50MM-$80MM difference over 5 years for a frachose in a bedrock-up rebuild.

Doubtful. Their FO is now being run by money ball guys, and they have to be salivating over the kind of roster you can build with a starting QB on a rookie deal.

Whatever allows the 49ers to land Garrett I am down with.

Both have performed well for their respective teams.

Who are these suckers that the Patriots have been blatantly ripping off?

Both are Pro Bowlers too. Here you'd be trading someone who couldn't make 3 games before getting hurt. That and the preseason is all you got to judge on.

It feels like trading for Kevin Kolb.

Oh so those players have only 2 games of experience to go off of?

All of training camp to prepare for 4 games, only lasted 2. Now pats spreading rumors to try to get the first or 2nd overall pick for him lol. Pats are more interested in keeping brisset then jg

2 games then hurt proves absolutely nothing in the NFL.

With that said I would still absolutely take him if the price is right
