Jimmy Garoppolo-QB-EIU

If they get a guy like McDaniels (he's the only guy I see trying to pull this sh!t), he could garner roster control from Snead. McD already dumped Jay Cutler from Denver, so using that control to jettison Goff wouldn't be that big of a stretch for him, lol. They could secure Jimmy with some day 2 capital, and the knowledge that BB has a record of cutting small discounts to familiars. They could also trade Goff for picks to help in trading for Garoppolo. Not saying any of this happens, as it hinges on A TON of huge "ifs," like: Rams hire McDaniels, McDaniels prefers Garoppolo to Goff, He has the authority to trade Goff, He can find value for Goff, Pats are willing to trade Garoppolo, Pats and Rams see eye-to-eye on value for Garoppolo, etc.

I just think it's a fun time of year to talk about this stuff. Shrine Game/Sr. Bowl coming soon, Combine to follow, then it's DEAD. Then FA starts, then it's DEAD. Gotta stay interested until the draft, LOL. Coming up with unlikely scenarios to ponder is one of my coping mechanisms.

Didn't he get fired once already in St Louis as the OC?

I mean I guess anything is possible but the chance they trade Goff off of 5 games after giving up so much for him ONLY to trade away more picks and pay Jimmy G is kinda far out there lol. (I think all they have is a 2,3,4,6 round pick this upcoming draft). I wouldn't be surprised if someone offers NE something better than they can offer.

It will be interesting to see who's coaching LA next yr...I'm praying we firing everyone and bring in the shannys personally

What are the Rams giving up to get Jimmy G? does every forget they gave up a ton of picks to get the #1 draft pick? Whomever is the HC in LA has to be okay with Goff as the future...that will be requirement IMO. They still have the same GM for now.

If the Rams want McDaniels they're going to have to play ball with him. He's got options. He's already chased out a Pro Bowl qb you know he's going to position to get his own guy. Rams will know that going in.

They're missing a 1st this year but JG is only going to garner a 2nd rounder and some change.

It's so far fetch that it's really not even worth debating at this point...didn't josh get fired already once in St Louis?

The Rams are all in on Goff, they won't be trading him and the next HC needs to be all in on Goff as well IMO.
.. but almost everyone is thinking ONE SIDED ONLY..

What makes u all think that the Patriots would not want more than what they deserve for Grappy especially if he's rated higher than any QBs coming out this year??

I understand not giving the whole farm, I'm all for that..

but if we don't offer what the Pats "to advantage", who do you all have in mind to QB this team??

I'd offer up our #34th pick and a conditional 2nd in 2018...if they want more than that good luck finding more.

Move to option two which is drafting turbisky at 2 if Myles is gone.

The signs are pointing to them wanting an offensive coach and I doubt they'll find one that wants Goff. Offensive minds typically want someone who runs their system. If you got Matt Ryan they can adjust but if there's question marks don't think they're bet their coaching career on inheriting an awful qb. The Rams may have to move on to entice a high profile offensive mi.f. You are right on Josh being fired but I was just responding to the scenario. It could also happen with Bortles and Jax.

Oh stop...goff was looked at as the top qb in the last draft and now he's labeled a bust after 6 games under a Jeff fisher's coaching staff? Lol

That OL is f**king awful and can't even do anything for Gurley, and who exactly are his offensive weapons? Kenny Britt? Dude landed in one of the worst places to develop a qb and there was a reason he wasn't supposed to play yr 1.

They aren't gonna move on from their #1 pick after 6 games and giving up muiltple picks...whatever HC goes there has to like Goff.

There's no reason why a offensive minded coach wouldn't want to work with goff. People were tight in the pants for him in here last yr now he sucks lol smh.

He's Alex Smith 2.0. He came in as a big developmental project they were forced to play him early when he wasn't ready but it's going to be years before he is. They may find someone who thinks he can fit their system but it won't be McDaniels and that was the poster's point.

Fair point if you think that means they won't hire him but my guess is they just end up with a crap coach wanting to stick with a questionable pick.

Making assumptions/comparisons on a guy 6 games into a season with hot trash coaching him and playing with him

We will see who comes to LA there's been reports of Sean Payton and Kyle shanahan as well. Payton bringing Brees and shanahan bringing Ryan too?

I mean why couldn't goff fit McDaniels system?

FYI I don't want you to feel like I'm always trying to argue with you lol...I just don't see that happening

The whole passing judgment on Goff after 6 games absolutely boggles my mind. I don't see them having trouble finding a coach that thinks he can work with Goff and Gurley and develop an offense around both of them. Rams will definitely have to invest in their OL and at WR and TE.

Completely agree...they get some OL and WR help and they could be setup for success.
This pipsqueak won't last half a season.

Alex Smith 2.0? uhh I guess they are both tall white guys who play quarterback... thats about as much as I see in common. Alex Smith needs more love man he's a stud QB running Andy Reid's system to perfection...
