If all the top WR's (Watkins, Evans, Lee, Cooks and Benjanmin) and top CB's (Dennard, Gilbert, Fuller, Roby, Verrett) are all gone at # 30, a trade down to get some extra picks and a DL like Tuitt would be fine with me.

We are not going to take this kid any lower than the third round, any of you guys thinking we will are out of your mind...

You guys are right. Love this kid. Its pretty well documented i think, have been high on him for quite a while. There is another thread on him i believe.

I dont see him becoming a 49er though. Its a possibility, but unlikely IMO. Its likely he goes quicker than we will want to go on a QB.

Would love to have him though.

But i wouldnt worry about it. We never draft my draft crushes.

Also, thanks for thinking about me guys. Sorry i havent been on much. Took a new job and have been swamped. That and the loss to seattle took a lot of wind out of my sails, and i have been spending most of my free time following the LA Kings, which is my other love in sports. I have been meaning to sit down and write an article for AB, but i have just been too busy.

We would have to take him with one of our second rounders, if he even made it there, and as nice as it would be to have him as insurance, I just don't see us taking a QB that early. Great prospect, but don't think we'll get him.

That would be fun too! What if the 49ers started going through QBs the way other teams go through RBs, just swapping them our after 4 or 5 years.

Love ya Idaho, but QB isn't a HUGE need. Will we need a backup QB? Absolutely, but with Kap about to sign a huge deal, he's the undisputed QB of this team and the face of the franchise. Signing another Colt McCoy type (veteran with no realistic chance to start over Kap, but good enough to game-manage if need be) would solve the issue in a heartbeat.

If Baalke did not pick garopolo what other qb would he think as a good pick who would come closest to Harboughs criteria?
