Osweiler was a project at best when drafted back then. Garoppolo, however, was drafted in round 2 for a reason.

Matt Bowen would pull the trigger.

alright. if kyle believes he is the guy and trades for him, i will be behind him 100%. Im just scared that we will pay him big time money and he will suck. We are lucky kap made such a team friendly deal (which i bet he regrets doing now).

Don't panic, that "big time money" that you mentioned will be nowhere near the "ginormous money" we would be paying if we were to trade for Cousins.

Just a guess, I think Jimmy G at the most will be about Osweiler money, may be $18 mil a year, but with Cousins we could potentially be talking about $25 mil a year. That's a difference of $7 mil a year which is huge.

If you are really that scared about money, then you should look towards the draft instead. Just grab Trubisky and enjoy that rookie contract.
ya I don't remember Osweiler every looking that good

Exactly. Osweiler was never good, period.

Basically, Elway misdrafted Osweiler and tried to go along with it and ride their D. But, the Texans got desperate and broke the bank for a scrub.

Looks like the Browns are still trying for Garoppolo.

It's going to be really interesting to see what NE does after the season. They are definitely tagging him, but there is no way they can carry his salary and Tom Brady's salary if TB continues to play for another 2-3 years. Do they cut Brady (lol)? I think Cleveland would be all over this if he's available. The Texans' 1st and 2 of Cleveland's' 2nd round picks (they have 3)?

For my money, they should have traded JG and kept Brissett.

They won't tag him. He will sign whatever they offer him

idk if he will resign for whatever the pats offer, a team will offer 2 times as much, but if he does then its just another example of why the pats are so good every year and for decades, its like the players who they draft and keep are all about the team while the others they trade aren't..if Jimmy G signs with the patriots for less then 10 million a year I will be shocked considering the contracts the likes of Glennon and others have gotten...Hoyer is getting what ? 8 ? Jimmy G will get more..

JG doesn't have to play and still get paid. why walk away from that
Garoppolo isn't going anywhere. Once New England traded away Brissett, it was a pretty good sign that they are locked in on Garoppolo as Brady's eventual replacement, whether that will be in a year or two, it is coming.

I'd love to see him in a 49ers uniform because I think he's be a great fit in the offense but the Patriots aren't giving him up.

Im with you on him (jg) as a 9er. He's young and got to sit behind tb for years and sprinkled in some playing time?

That's losers mentality bruh, wouldn't you wanna start and eventually make a name for yourself? I don't know what young guy wouldn't wanna play or anyone.

He is going to make a name for himself, right after he replaces Brady. Brady is 40 years old, at some point his production will fall off---and fast. I don't see New England letting Garoppolo go and then being caught with their pants down when Brady does drop off. I think it is more likely that they let Brady walk a year soon then lose their next potential franchise quarterback.

It's one thing if the pats franchise him a he doesn't have a choice, it's another if they let him hit the market and gets a chance to start and get paid still. He's not gonna go back to the pats if they let him test the market and Brady is still there

Jimmy has the choice in this matter. NE could franchise him and tie up over $40M in the QB position, but Brady says he wants to keep on playing. Jimmy has to be itching to play somewhere. NE is going to have to pony up big time if they want to keep him because other teams will pay him.
