This guy was balling, you go back and look at that Eric Reid pick, Dontae was the one who brought the pressure, and was 0.6 seconds away from sacking Eli on that play.
His first snap in the Dallas game (in week one) was hammering Dez Bryant's ankles to the ground before the 1st down line, he did this same thing to Boldin in training camp, and it erupted in a fight. This kid has a real dirty/aggressive streak to him, I love it.
lol, that was great, I loved that chit... this dude ain't scurred. 49ers got a keeper and I wouldn't doubt that he'll be a starter next year.
Agree with this for sure. With a full offseason with the coaching staff he should be ready to start no doubt.

If we continue to get such great picks in the later rounds, might as well trade down that first pick and get more lower round picks. Point I'm saying is I agree with the folks who say our scouts are doing a great job finding talent in the later rounds.

Still would not trade out of the first round in order to get additional low-round picks simply because most of the guys who are picked in first are picked this early for a reason.

Baalke is the master of defensive scouting… we know that and that is where this team really excels.
But trading out of a 1st for anything less than a future 1st and a current 2nd or 3rd would be the worst decision possible out of a GM. IMO if we are gonna trade a first it needs to be to GB or Pit for the WR scouting haha. Though allot of it is all based on opinion, for example many zoners that frequent the draft room have begged for the niners to draft over half of the pit WRs.

Yeah, Dontae plays press coverage in the slot and often times, jam press, so Fangio's been running blitzes off those looks and they ahev been very effective. I'd like to see Bethea do that as well more (he may have and I missed it) b/c he's a great blitzer as well. Great stuff and props to Fangio!

Yes, he's been the most unheralded, yet stellar rookie this year...
