Another good game and bringing the blitzes (too bad we couldn't wrap up). No negative plays? Did he continue to play in the slot and outside again?

I can't get over the fact we have a 6'2" slot CB! Just so much we can do with that height and experience at the slot.

Johnson was a surprise candidate to play the slot position after spending the majority of training camp working on the outside. The 6-foot-2 rookie doesnt have the typical build for the slot. The position is more closely associated with shorter players that excel in small spaces.

"At the end of the day, I play DB, I play corner. You have to have that quick twitch. I feel like I have it."

Johnsons versatility along with his length was a trait that attracted the 49ers in the draft.

Funny b/c IIRC, there was this other 6'2" slot CB from Seattle we almost nabbed in FA. Hmmm, what was his name?

Awesome read. A great pick for the 49ers who has become a very intragural part of this defense & has a chance to become a starter on this top 5 defense next season!

Gotcha.....thought you were speaking about Walter Thurmond.

I think Browner is even taller than that. 6-4 or 6-5. Dude is gigantic..... + full of PEDs.

Oh wait, I think I got them mixed up. Didn't Thurmond play the slot for them and he's 5'11"? The PEDs just got me all mixed up!

Cornerbacks Slot Performance

When Johnson lines up in the Slot opposing QBs have a 43.8 NFL Rating when throwing into his direction. Thats the Third Lowest Rating in the NFL (the lower, the better).

1. Darrelle Revis NFL Rating 20.0

2. Brandon Flowers NFL Rating 33.8

3. Dontae Johnson NFL Rating 43.8

Man, it's crazy to think the worst draft pick so far has been the 1st rounder...and he wasn't that bad..was just learning a new position after playing safety in college...either way he was drafted as a future safety, so i am not concerned.
