Giants, Skins and Hawks are the opponents where Johnson played mostly in the slot.
He also played almost the whole Dallas + Denver game and a few snaps against Chicago, St Louis and New Orleans.
Totally agree with the rest.

What should we do with Ward next year? I think Johnson earn the starting position over him.

A Few Other Stats I Found Looking For Johnson
Johnson is also one of our top ST players. Out of 1089 players Johnson is Nr. 92.
Our best player on special teams is still Chris Cook (IR) at NR 27.
By the way our two special team aces Ray Ventrone and Kassim Osgood come in at 968 and 1063.
And last but not least. Carlos Rogers, who Johnson replaced this season in the slot, is dead last in the NFL in completion percentage. 84.6 percent of the passes thrown into his direction are completed.
This is some gold information DeUh. Truly. And I'm not saying that b/c I'm excited about the kid either. This is tremendous play WHEN he's on the field no matter what capacity he's playing (ST, outside, slot, etc.). The arrow is continuing to point up as well...

Nickle and some snaps at FS. His speed and range and ball-hawking ability will start to pay dividends when everything is in front of him for sure. Slot if almost the opposite of this.

Cornerbacks Slot Performance
When Johnson lines up in the Slot opposing QBs have a 43.8 NFL Rating when throwing into his direction. Thats the Third Lowest Rating in the NFL (the lower, the better).
1. Darrelle Revis NFL Rating 20.0
2. Brandon Flowers NFL Rating 33.8
3. Dontae Johnson NFL Rating 43.8
Just more stats proving how good the kid is playing out there
And he just started getting his feet wet. He'll only get better and better in this defensive scheme.
Don't get too excited about those stats, after all....he's only played against RG the Turd, and Russell Wilson.
Yeah, good point...how many games has he played now mostly at slot? Since Ward's been out? I know he's played some outside as well.
Mostly in the slot -> NY Giants + Washington Redskins + Seattle Seahawks.
This season Johnson played a total of 225 snaps on defense (slot + outside) and has a NFL Rating of 65.2. Thats 14th best in the NFL (out of 117 CBs).
14. Dontae Johnson SF 65.2
------------------------------------------------
A few other notable rookies.
27. Jason Verrett SD 76.2
29. EJ Gaines SL 77.6
36. Phillip Gaines KC 80.6
64. Kyle Fuller CHI 93.3
75. Justin Gilbert CLV 99.0
81. Bradley Roby DEN 104.5
85. Bashaud Breeland WAS 108.9
113. Jimmie Ward SF 134.3
The percentage of receptions completed into his coverage (225 snaps / slot + outside) is 42.9. Thats 2nd Best in the NFL (out of 117 CBs)
2. Dontae Johnson SF 42.9
----------------------------------------------
3. Vontae Davis IND 45.0
4. RIchard Sherman SEA 45.1
.
8. Darrelle Revis NE 47.8
.
.
.
This season Johnson has 3 PD (passes defended) and 1 Interception on 21 Targets.
To put those numbers into perspective.
This season Sherman has 4 PD (passes defended) and 3 Interception on 51 Targets.
Note I dont want to say that Johnson is as good as Sherman or Revis, both played way more snaps on defense. BUT when on the field he has been highly productive.
To make his numbers more comparable to the other rookies I posted here are their snap counts.
14. Dontae Johnson 225 snaps
---------------------------------------------------
27. Jason Verrett 230 snaps
29. EJ Gaines 795 snaps
36. Phillip Gaines 304 snaps
64. Kyle Fuller 676 snaps
75. Justin Gilbert 291 snaps
81. Bradley Roby 625 snaos
85. Bashaud Breelans 620 snaps
113. Jimmie Ward 270 snaps
Dontae Johnson was picked in the 4th round. The other 3 highlighted players with similar snap counts were picked in the 1st round.

Huh?
He gave up one catch to Gates for 28 (from the slot IIRC) but otherwise, played well.
You want to talk about horrendous play, look no futher than Dahl and Cromartie. Culliver played OK as well (a little late a couple times).
In order of good play:
Cox, Bethea, Johnson, Cully, Cromartie and Dahl.

Yep there was a throw in the endzone that he played perfect D. He didn't get the INT, but his length impacted the catch, and the receiver dropped the ball. Similar to what Sherman does for Seattle.

LOVE his size, length but best of all, his positioning and timing. B/c of his size, WR's "look" covered as well and QB's are less inclinded to throw up a jump ball to him vs. someone the size of Brown, etc. in year's past.
