Dontae Johnson to me was the only bright spot besides Purcell last night vs Houston.

DJ is one of the better players on this team. its a luxury to have a 6'3 CB that can play.

Anyone for the idea of making, s**t can't remember his name...lol, the Safety turned nickle back 1st round pick last year, but making him the number one Safety on the depth chart to come in if Reid of Bethea get hurt. Screw trying to turn him into a nickle. We've got 3 young CBs in Johnson, Acker, and Reaser that if needed could be our 3 main CBs.(two starters and one nickle)

my favorite play of his wasn't the almost pick 6. it was a run play. they ran to his side, he ditched the wr came up and helped make the hit
that is what im talking about!
it really should be a fight for the 3rd cb between the rest of them. he's the one on the outside all game for me. brock is the other starter everyone else good luck

Hopefully Johnson and not Wright starts on the outside opposite of Brock. Ward can play the slot. Wright should be our vet #4 guy not a starter. Not sure why Johnson was playing so late in the game with the backups. My guess is they wanted to see Wright vs starters or he is on the inside track to starting and Johnson is behind him.

This.
More experience and the same quality coaching and he's going to be in highlight reels.

Reid/Bethea/Brock
I think by moving Brock inside and bringing Johnson off the bench to play outside, they are just trying to get this dude on the field any way they can. If Brock doesn't look comfortable inside, I wouldn't be surprised if DJ won the nickel/dime role...even the slot role. Just so many combinations we can go with on personnel matchups that Mangini likes. Keep an eye on Reaser, Acker, McCray and Tartt as well.
