DJ on Baldwin? RR on Rich?

Don't think they do individual matchups.

Whether or not Baldwin lines up strongside still won't answer your question about which 49er CB will see him more. So far this preseason and game 1, the 49er CBs are not lining up to the strongside/weakside. They are playing to the 'field' side, and 'boundary' side. They don't care which WR it is, or whether it's strongside/weakside of the offensive formation. What they care about is the short side of the field (boundary), and the wide side of the field (field).

Below, RR is playing LCB because that side has more room.

RR is now the RCB because that's the side with more room.

Baldwin spends most of his time in the slot.

The two pics above might make you think RR lines up on the strongside of the offensive formation. That's just coincidence. Here's an example of RR playing the wide side of the field, that is also the weakside of the offensive formation.

Yeah youre right. Thx for thoroughly breaking that down.

Welp.. Guess well see what SEA does.
Who do you think ends up with more snaps on Baldwin?

Im good with that. I like Williams so far.
If he steps up and plays good as a starting CB the position will get pushed down the list of needs, I've always liked DJ and was high on him, was confused when he wasn't getting any PT the last couple of yrs..hope he continues to play good..!

Yeah, there's no n substitution for experience. He'll have some growing pains just like a young kid like RR. We saw that on Sunday.
I'm wondering how come no one says anything about this guy. That's usually a good thing but as bad as it sounds, he's our best outside corner right now. I haven't noticed him getting beat much, and I've been Really been focusing on Robinson continuing to get toasted..
