I agree I would rather gamble with Verrett because when the dude is healthy he's a difference maker. Sign him to a 1 year incentive deal. Nothing to lose, but bringing back DoneTrash Johnson will come back N bite them in the ass. I can see him in the playoffs giving up the game winning TD.

49ers eliminated because of one man's inability to cover his man 🤦🏻‍♂️

you said nothing wrong

A little glass half empty for my liking. DJ is a good depth guy.

At some point, we have to recognize that the staff has looked at their options and see DJ as good depth as well as a big, fast guy who is good in ST coverage and blocking. Also, he is a guy who is willing to accept that role and not whine about it. That attitude is worth something as well.

That having been said, I hope we make our usual 5th round jewel pick that turns out to be the next Prime Time.

He did came through in a pinch against the Packers last year. And maybe a couple of other games. He's like a food filler. Ok in moderation. Too much and you get the runs.

I just don't get the Hate for DJ. Yes he will give up a big play occasionally but always seems to turn around and make a big play. You get a guy who can play multiple positions and is always in on all special teams. Will come with a very cheap contract and knows his spot and doesn't gripe. Knows the team and the system, rarely commits a penalty and by all accounts is a good team mate and mentor. Can't have 53 all pros. You must have loyal role players as well. Now I can't wait to here from all of the arm chair GMs and coaches.
He's a good ST player. John Schneider's little brother has more pull than Kyle right now.

Some people never truly healed from the Baalke/Chip Kelly/Jim Tonlmsula days. Anyone who shows a glimpse of play making abilities are legends in their books
😒🙄🤦🏻‍♂️
Dontae, I wish I could quit you

This
DJ and Dennard are like 5th/6th on the CB depth chart. That's really not bad at all and we could do a lot worse...
DJ's making the team, $712,500 GTD, $560K in base salary GTD & $152,500 signing bonus, $1.12M base, $1,047,500 cap number, veteran minimum salary benefit deal.
SHOULD we ask the guy to retire and coach the secondary ??
