Maybe it's us and Baalke didn't want to show his hand.

Unless Baalke is a bold faced liar...so maybe

Raiders interested in Hardy.

One of the top-rated free agents left in the Class of 2015 has caught the eye of the Raiders.

According to Jordan Schultz of the Huffington Postand NBC Sports Radio, the Raiders are "in discussions" with Panthers defensive end Greg Hardy.

PFT's Mike Florio confirms the Raiders have interest in Hardy, who is on the commissioner's exempt list stemming from domestic violence charges that were dismissed in February after he was found guilty in an earlier bench trial. The NFL has ruled that Hardy can sign with a club, though more discipline is possible.

The 26-year-old Hardy emerged as one of the NFL's top pass rushers in 2012 and 2013, notching a combined 26 sacks in that span. However, he played in just one game a season ago before being placed on paid leave.

Baalke, you *$^& pick up the phone and make some calls, asap.

What position would he play? Didn't they run a 4-3 in Carolina?

so sign a guy that might be suspended and one slap away from being banned? Yeahhh I'd rather grab someone like Alvin Dupree in the draft then bring this headcase in.

After reading that he might still be suspended next year I really don't see the point.
Can we lock this thread up already? Baalke made it very clear that this guy will never be a 49er.

I think he would be better as the weak side 3-4 DE
Pack on 5 pounds and get a week in with Tomsula and this guy could be everything RayMac once was, and then some.

But I doubt we sign him
I don't foresee him in Red & Gold either.
ESPN:

"Free-agent defensive end Greg Hardy has started negotiations with a team that does not want to be identified, and others are interested as well, according to his agent, Drew Rosenhaus."

If I were the 49ers I sure as heck wouldn't want to be identified if I were going after a guy who just got accused of spousal abuse.

Baalke said he had no contact with his rep's a few days ago. Let's hope that's changed. Priority #1 on this team (QB notwithstanding) should absolutely be keeping the DL strong IMO. Sign the man!
If we signed Greg Hardy, the media would roast us until hell freezes over. This guy is the complete opposite of "winning with class". That being said, screw Jed and screw the media lol. I would be in utter shock if he played for the Niners next year.
Raiders can have him. For once we don't need another player with off the field issues.
He will be a Raider
