Greg Hardy

People would forget about the allegations once Hardy started racking up sacks. The offseason is a perfect time for the team to have a "distraction" like Hardy. The questions will happen, and then they'll be over with. The media will give the team crap, but then it'll become an old story nobody cares about any more.

Did Leonard Little cause the destruction of the Rams' team because he killed someone and they continued to play him? No. The Rams just went on about their business. The media forgot about dog fighting pretty quickly after Vick became an Eagle as well.

Hardy is exactly what the team needs. Even if JSmith comes back, I say get him. He'd get almost as much as Suh if not for the legal issues IMO. A big DE who can get after the QB is a rare thing. Julius Peppers, Reggie White, Mario Williams and so on. Hardy had 26 sacks in 31 games (23 starts). The man is as sure a thing as it gets when you want pressure on the QB.

I'd want a guy like Hardy regardless of what the team's situation was like. Make room for him if you don't have it. You want that guy on your team. The damage is already done to his stock. You want the damage to be done BEFORE he signs rather than after.

Soooooo, why do people want Hardy when he is a 4-3 end? I see absolutely no reason to try and convert and pay Hardy over developing Lynch. Hardy doesn't fit this defense, plain and simple.

Hardy, as many know, was a WR in his early years of college and is definitely athletic enough to handle 3-4 OLB responsibilities. Now, with a guy like Hardy you want him primarily moving forward attacking the QB, but he can drop in coverage if/when needed.

Question is, would the front office sign him? I can't see it happening.

And, you can never ever have enough pass rushers.

Hardy would be a RDE in the Niners' 3-4 defense not an OLB IMO. At least that's how I'd use him w/ Aldon & Lynch at OLB. I think Hardy's strong enough.

I doubt we sign Hardy now, before factoring in Cook, Pears, Wright and Bush into the cap, we are only $15M under, which seems ok, but remember we have to pay back Aldon almost $5M, and we need up to $5M for draft picks. Plus teams like to take $5M into the season for emergencies.

Only guys who I can see us getting cap room from are Kap and maybe Dawson(Doubt this one until we have a good enough option to replace Dawson).
Forgot to add this, with that $15M, we will take away around $3M for Wright, probably $2M at minimum for Bush, so that leaves maybe $10M for Pears and Cook, who probably got minimum deals, with little bonus money.

If all goes well we will extend Aldon mid season to make space down the stretch ya think?

Took the temp of a lot of teams on Greg Hardy over the weekend, came away with the sense DAL and SEA could emerge as legit suitors

Would be surprising to see a team make a move before NFL rules on discipline, and I'm told "nothing's imminent" but several teams monitoring

If Seattle gets him I will be very upset.

Peter King reported it's a good chance Hardy will be suspended the first 6 games.
He's going to Seattle book it, once again we'll just watch most pro bowl type players go to Seattle

Ain't nobody whining you idiot, some people get tired of seeing good players go to your rival and on top of that the best team in the league
No sense in continuing to talk about this guy coming here. Trent baalke already pubically stated that they were not interested.
