Tom Gamble, former Assistant GM

Ganble's one of the best personnel guys in the NFL...that he already knows the Niner organization is gravy. In case you haven't read it yet, Matt Barrows wrote a very good synopsis of where things stand w/Tomsula's staff. The most encouraging part was what he had to say WRT Chryst...for one thing, he intends to incorporate more read-option. It's what really helped make Kap successful early on. For some reason, Roman/Harbaugh got away from it and our offense got bogged down. Chryst also plans to speed up the offense...to get the plays into Kap earlier, giving him more time to read the defense and execute and/or change the play, based on what he sees.

Well has anyone actually thought back to 2012? I swear I said this in another thread but Gamble's last gift to this team personally scouting LaMichael James. Attending multiple games and his pro day. Do we blame him for the scouting report, Baalke for officially drafting him, the coaching staff for his utilization, or LMJ himself for his sh&tty attitude? Or a combination of them?

Then in a sort of ironic way, the other RB he scouted with equal intensity in Chris Polk goes undrafted and lands with the Eagles....Take that for what it's worth. You can't judge a talent evaluator on 1 single player but it does make me laugh.

Well, I would agree, except I was jazzed to get LMJ. Thought he'd be great. Oh, well.

This man is the future.
Thoughts on how he'd operate differently if promoted to GM to replace Trent???
