LOL
i laugh because people say OBJ is a Diva.
What has he done that's really considered him to be a diva?
he got mad on the sidelines with a FG net once? if it were someone else, they'd call it passion for the game.

Imagine a defense that has to stop the 49ers ground attack, and keep two guys on Kittle or OBJ, leaving one of them one-on-one.

Please trade for him. We have BOSA. Now we can offer a first round pick. Dude will shine in Shanahan's system.

I don't buy these rumors, but if that happened, given who we have on the team, I'll just go ahead and say the offense will be better than the Falcons in 2016. I think Jimmy is much clutch than Matt Ryan, though he hasn't put up the numbers, our running game is better, we have a better starting TE, our defense is far superior. The only place the 2016 Falcons has us beat is at receiver, but with OBJ, surely the other guys will thrive in number 2, 3, and 4 roles. I hope the lightbulb comes on for Pettis in particularly, because he potentially can be someone special.

So with no picks in either of the first two rounds, the reconstruction of our O line will have to wait another year. And re-signing our own young stars like Buckner? No money left.

I'm not for acquiring OBJ, but reconstruction of the OL is needed every year but hitting on a legit #1 WR in one year will set that position for at least 5 years. Hitting on one OL one year will not which is why OL need is every year but hitting on an OL every year is not needed.

I mean would you call a 1st and 2nd rd pick for OBJ and Ford bad? Not me
Right now SF has about $45M (with rollover) for 2020.
Buck is already on the books next yr and a new contract isn't gonna change his cap hit too much in 2020. There's a handful of dudes you can cut (Goodwin/Jet/Nzeocha etc) to create around 10+M more in space. Throw in you can give extensions to guys like Juice/Tarrt to lower their cap hit next yr.
I'm looking at OBJ cap hits and it's around $15M per which isn't outrageous. Looks like he doesn't have any fully GT money left and can be cut with no dead money for the rest of his contract. He might want to restructure for more GT cash (and SF can lower the cap hit with signing bonuses spread out).
As far as Kittle goes, thank god he's a TE....his contract will be the highest in the league, which in the overall aspect of NFLcontracts isn't a ton of cash. Kelce avg around $9M per (cap hit his first yr was $2.9M) that's not gonna kill SF at all IMO. Freaking Thomas is making $8M next yr (man I was wrong about him).
ALSO we got a new CBA coming up, which might give team even more cash to work with down the road...plus Paraag gonna Paraag. There will be cash
Finally, you're question about reconstruction the OL....why? Our starters are all signed thru at least 2021 They're playing at a high level right now, sure you can add depth BUT that doesn't have to be a high pick. Rather have that 1st be a instant impact player right now.
If OBJ is available, I'd throw a 1st at him all day.

Yeah our starters on the OL are playing well together and are all signed thru at least 2021. Depth is always a need, but you don't have to burn a 1st on that IMO.
OBJ would be a boss move, highly unlikely though.
