The no chance in hell of happening Leveon Bell dream thread

Bell deserves his money. That man had nearly 750 touches in the last 2 seasons. To say he is "just a running back" or that "no running back is THAT valuable" drives me nuts. Calling Bell just a running back is a ridiculous undersell. He is more valuable to that offense than any other player and should be compensated for it.

If he is made available, we should go get him. Period. Dude is a game/team changer.

Dare I say he's an offensive weapon?

After watching Conner go off and D Williams putting up very good numbers I wonder how much the OL and scheme play a part in bell's game?
If Morris and Breida stink it up against a horrible Detroit run d it maybe serious time to call the Steelers or maybe the Bills to see if shady is available since they're going nowhere

Shady is an interesting idea, actually...

But I think they'll only trade him at the trade deadline. If they're 2-6 or worse at that point it might be a legitimate possibility.

Hopefully we aren't in the same boat as the bills at that point. We are likely still 1 year away imo but time will tell.

McCoy is signed for this season and next season. If we're 4-4 or better and the Bills are 2-6 or worse I would 100% trade a 4th for him.

No way....dude is 30 with a million carries and has about $9 million on the cap this yr and next. He's constantly banged up.

Hard pass on that
IMO, there is ZERO chance of signing Bell w/the $$ we are paying McK and JG.

That said, I found an interesting article on the rationale for trading Bell to the Packers - who IMO, have one of the worst FO's in the league.

No way in hell the packers sign a rb for the money bell is looking for. They would be doing the same thing if bell was originally a packer and they were going thru the same thing the Steelers are. Bell with Rodgers wouldn't be fair tho

Agree Fred!

I still think they have one of the worst FO in the league.

Idk man. Packers normally would never. But they seem to really be going for it this year. They actually got involved in free agency this year plus tried to grab Mack.
It's unfortunate for Bell but even as arguably the best RB in the NFL no one will trade for him or even given him the money he deserves with all that mileage on him. I think a Bell Mckinnon combo next could years would be amazing yet it wouldn't happen. Way too much money to the RB spot even though we could afford it with money that should come off the books next year.

The biggest thing I've noticed is this team will still need a goal line back to help our red zone woes. If we're moving forward with McKinnon we need to draft or sign a backup with some power. Morris just isn't a power back he's a great zone runner but not gonna get many tough yards on the goal line like we need.

I mean bell can score in the RZ...it's all about that OL as well.

I think Bell is a stud but I think that OL and OL coach (Mike Munchak) are bad ass as well. I was hoping we were gonna draft Royce freeman.

I understand Mack since he plays a premium position and the packers haven't had anything remotely close of a defense since they won the sb in 10'. But them paying a rb 16-17 mil per what bell seeks is a long shot, bell has a team like the jets written all over. Plenty of cap, rookie qb on rookie deal and a play maker to help take pressure of Darnold.

In a vacuum Bell is still a top 5 back and he probably will be for the next 3 years. I agree the system and talent on the Steelers has contributed to his success but I think we have a really good system as well. It will be interesting to see what happens with him. I'm not really on board now because we are still a year away. Maybe next year as a FA we think about it but I worry what that will do to the lockeroom with Mckinnon. Again only reason I think we should consider it is that we still have so much cap room and players coming off their contracts next couple of years.
