We just signed McKinnon for big money. Trading for, and then giving Bell big money to play the same role makes no sense.

Why not? McKinnon isn't a workhorse back anyway. So even with him on the team there's still plenty of touches for Bell.

Niners are running the ball fine. Bell while a great player isn't top of the list as far as priorities/needs go...I feel like people just want a big name player just to say he's on the team.

Bell doesn't make any sense. We need to upgrade the guard spot so our run game looks better. WE NEED TWO OUTSIDE PASSRUSHERS.

Because we're not going to blow all our cap space on 2 players that fill the same role. Its redundant.
McKinnon's deal has an out after Year 1 which he's not even going to play. It will be just a $1.5 million dollar dead cap hit to cut him at the end of this football year.

lol we felt he was important enough to pay him top 5 money to be in this offense. He doesn't play a down as a Niner due to injury, and were just going to punt him out the door?
Breida is a good example of not needing an elite back in this system. If we were gonna get a disgruntled person on the steelers I would rather have AB

Yah that doesn't make sense that is definitely a Madden move.

Tevin Coleman will be a FA though

To be fair to Breida. He was a potential elite back before his final year in college. Everyone had him up there with Fournette, Cook, C-Mac. His 2014 and 2015 play was insane. Then 2016 happened.

I would think Shanahan goes after him depending on the outcome this season with Breida, other than that I doubt they add a Arby in free agency.
Steelers listening to trade offers for Bell, per Schefter.

another player Lynch will be meh about. Don't get your hopes up.
Hopefully Lynch is hearing it!

I was disappointed we didn't get Mack, but not trading for Bell I understand. We're already paying McKinnon and Bell doesn't want to play until he has a contract. So essentially he'd be a six-game rental...
Not sure what part of "he will hold out here because they can't offer him a contract" people on here can't comprehend.

I know I'm in the minority but I'd go after him.He is great all around and his pass catching is Tomlinson esque.I dont see any great weapons on this team and having alot of money at running back I know seems crazy but I could see us moving and using Mckinnion and Bell anywhere and everywhere even having them on the field together..... lol I just love bell and I'm trying to justify it

I agree with this. No way we have so much invested in the RB position.
