Never go full...

Think it might have happened

Right id rather have a young talent player who's on a cheap contract for the next 5 yrs AND take that money that you'd give OBJ and sign two good free agents....this isn't the NBA where you need 6-7 players to be a contender.

And take a risk on that young player being a complete and total bust as opposed to someone who's proven to be a performer on the highest level?
What is all this talk about getting Beckham for a 2nd rounder when its been widely reported that at minimum it will cost a 1st and a 2nd. A team like the Rams might throw 2 1sts for a guy who has been mostly dinged up throughout his career and was the invisible man in the playoffs.

Have at it for that price along with having to pay him $20 million a year soon after. Trading away 1st rounders repeatedly is how Seattle got themselves into trouble.

This. He must still be thinking Dez is one of the top receivers

Larry Fitzgerald. He's quietly about to be 2nd all time in most receiving categories. Look at how many garbage QBs he has played with and the guy was always a pro. Handled his business on and off the field with class, never whined or complained. Nothing diva about him and he's one of the greatest of all time.

If he hadn't spent a good portion of his career with the Kevin Kolbs/John Skeltons/Matt Leinarts and Blaine Gabberts I think he'd definitely be within striking distance of some of Jerry's numbers.
As much as some posters want a trade for OBJ to happen, it ain't gonna happen. Not worth getting hyped up over it, or fantasizing over the thought of it happening.

Oh what, do you know John Lynch personally or something.

Sorry I had to do it.
What situation would you prefer:

OBJ
-or-
Dez Bryant + (Fitzpatrick/Edmunds/Landry/Smith...etc) + 10mil extra cap space?
Schefter: Giants have asked for at least two first-round picks in return for Odell Beckham Jr., a league source tells ESPN, even though team insists it is not shopping him. Doesn't mean they get it, or close to it, or even trade OBJ. But they have asked for at least two first-round picks.

That one is my favorite!!!

But track record has shown, Shanahan has never invested more than a 3rd round pick for a WR, what makes people think he's gonna let Lynch give up the #9 overall pick?

Do be fair, we have pretty much "Thrown away" first round draft pics for the last decade.

Im not in the trade for ODB camp, but there are strong arguments to be made that he would be worth a first and a second for the 49ers.

My point was I have no idea why you keep bringing up how they started the season and asking how did he help them win. And he's not going to get $20 mil...he's most likely get AB money...which if we go by his production and age, then yes he's worth that. And giving up say #9 and a mid-late round pick is fair value for arguably the best WR in the game, who's still young. Throwing a 2nd at them is not going to get it done...that was my other point . I have lots of points lol

Then you're missing the whole pt if you don't get it...a WR isn't gonna magically make a team a playoff contender. It's not even close to the same value as a QB/edge rusher/LT/CB IMO. SO paying him at the value of a QB AND giving up high draft capital (with cheap contracts for 4-5 yrs).

he most certainly will be asking for $20 million per yr...Sammy Watkins just got $16 million per yr lol.

Giving up the 9th pick lol good lord. This isn't fantasy football

So he plays no part in the wins when they go 11-5, but when they start 0-4 he's the one not helping the team win, got it.
You philosophy seems to be either just offer up 1 year prove it deals to everyone, or if there is someone possibly available who is a top 1-3 talent, offer up peanuts in a trade and/or scoff at paying them. So basically they just shouldn't pay anyone, because all contracts these days are absurd.

I cant remember what was give for Julio Jones, but arguably, he was worth it, and we was a rookie.

If ODB didnt have the head case issues, someone would do it in a heartbeat.

It was 2x 1st for Julio and he's been well worth it.
