Odell Beckham

Not worth two 1st's! Maybe a 2nd and a future 1st and even that is too risky for this fool. OBJ is going to be a problem child no matter where he ends up.

Then you're missing the whole pt if you don't get it...a WR isn't gonna magically make a team a playoff contender. It's not even close to the same value as a QB/edge rusher/LT/CB IMO. SO paying him at the value of a QB AND giving up high draft capital (with cheap contracts for 4-5 yrs).

he most certainly will be asking for $20 million per yr...Sammy Watkins just got $16 million per yr lol.

Giving up the 9th pick lol good lord. This isn't fantasy football

So he plays no part in the wins when they go 11-5, but when they start 0-4 he's the one not helping the team win, got it.
You philosophy seems to be either just offer up 1 year prove it deals to everyone, or if there is someone possibly available who is a top 1-3 talent, offer up peanuts in a trade and/or scoff at paying them. So basically they just shouldn't pay anyone, because all contracts these days are absurd.

I think he was ok with the contract they gave Mckinnon?

Yup and that's why I have a hard time following his rationale (not that I had an issue with that contract)

Ok, so why didn't his previous teams draft a WR in the 1st then? Sure Shanahan wasn't the trigger man in the draft, but his input is definitely considered.

Wow I'm a fool huh, tone it down for I be the Webzone travel agent that can send you on a long permanent trip. But I can't say nor can you that Shanahan would or wouldn't, and even if he does the circumstances to acquiring Beckham is too much for the 49ers future of success.

Lol you make a snide remark and I comment and don't even say anything to you personally and you jump straight to abusing your mod power lmao.

I'm going to continue posting the same exact way. If you don't like it, ignore me.

It's funny coming to the WZ and niners fans are so deluded. Can't even begin to dissect your faulty logic here. Shanny has never invested more than a 3rd. Shanny has never been a head coach. Or had a chance to get a top 2 WR.

No one knows what they'll do, but you're a fool if you don't think Shanny would want Odell. I don't think we'll get Odell, but I'm not gonna sit up here and act like I know Shanny personally. Which is what a lot of you do and it's the craziest thing lmao

Its so funny when people say "Shanny has never" as if he has been a HC his entire time in the league.

He has had virtually 0 say or meaningful impact in any draft decisions or FA personnel decisions in every stay he has been in, outside of answering the questions his boss asked, and offering up his personal draft crushes. He was not a part of running any drafts or offseasons prior to last season.

We have no idea what he will choose to do over the course of his career here. He has shown some real tendencies to look for certain qualifiers and "types" such as at the RB position, but that doesnt mean his previous stints as a coach have any meaningful significance when it relates to his current role with the 49ers.

Again, so why didn't past GM's take a WR in the 1st then?

What past GM's are you referencing? Again, Shanny has never been a HC before.

Besides that fact, have you seen the WR talent on most the rosters he was coaching? Did they need to spend a 1st round pick on a wr? He had top WR talent at pretty much every coaching stop.

Nope...I'm saying overall he doesn't move the scale enough to justify giving up that cash AND draft capital. That's my pt. How many games were won and lost because of him? He plays a position that is very very dependent of other players around him.

I have no idea where the one yr prove it deal stuff came from lol?

I think you should pay the right positions the right amount of money...OBJ should get paid as a top WR no question, He's earned it. I don't think we have to be the team that has to give up 2 1st rd picks and make him the highest paid player though.

NY got him dirt cheap for 4 yrs an now want some other teams draft for the next two yrs and want them to pay him what they should be doing lol...go look in his rookie thread I wanted him bad lol. Make a fair offer if they want the moon well let some other team do it.

Wait why is that the going rate? Because NY said so? If no one else is offering two 1st rd picks then offer something else. The market shows that Landry was worth a 4th and 7th rd pick lol. You're making up what the market is.
if we can trade our past two first round picks (AA & ST) then lets do it

Landry isn't even close to OBJ. And MIAMI had to trade him. Lmao. They were never getting anything for him becsuse he's a slot WR. His average depth of target is behind the LOS lmao

Your consistently threatening posters who disagree with your opinions.
Your posts set a poor example for the rest of the WZ.
Your posts are extremely flawed. You would take C.Ridley at 9. Least respected Mod of all time, and it's not even close.

Two firsts. lol

Every time any player of any quality is available... two firsts!

Alex Smith? Two firsts!
Jarvis Landry? Two firsts!
Nick Foles? Two firsts!
Marcus Peters? Two firsts!

Welcome to the "two firsts" club, Odell.

Bracing for the "b...bu...but...he's worth it" replies. (psst...it ain't happening.)

The 1 year prove it deal comes from what you were saying in virtually every FA thread lol. Listen, I'm not advocating mortgaging the future for him or anyone (which they would nit necessarily be doing by the way since they are in great shape financially going fwd, and being in great shape should put you in a position to make a splurge buy...which teams do)...it's more about playing devils advocate
If they really wanna trade him they'll lower those ridiculous demands, they're just checking if there's a stupid team that desperate

Rams?
He is amazing on the field, but I question his durability.

He is kinda of a jackass off the field.

He is also not very well liked in his locker room from what I gather.
