This is so silly lmao. Name one big time WR without an ego? Who gives a f**k. He's an absolute baller and I'd love to have him here. You guys want every player on this team to be choir boys. You need a mix of all of it for a robust locker room.
Antonio Brown has an ego. Randy Moss had one. Lev Bell has one. Every player considered one of the best will have an ego
Reading comprehension. I said his ego has gotten out of hand. Why do you think NYG is so reluctant to pay him.

NY isn't in a position to win right now and, as such, shouldn't be paying OBJ fat money if they're going nowhere.

I would take him for a 3rd. His contract has to factor into the equation for compensation to the Giants.

Dump OBJ, trade the #2 to the Bills for their two 1sts. Grab your future QB and Ridley or Sutton

Cancer is a strong word. Serious question, has he been accused of disrupting the locker room? I understand he gets emo and has curious moments but is he a cancer?
I think him being in videos with cocaine is enough for us to steer clear. We just can't afford another person with substance abuse problems.
It's really not. He's a headcase and a weekly distraction. I wouldn't want him anywhere near this team.

Fans really overvalue the trade market for veteran players. Even superstars. QBs are the only ones who can draw 1st round pick compensation -- even then it's a maybe.
There are people on this board who think/thought for sure guys like Peters, Foles, Talib and a few others deserved 1st round pick discussion. It just doesn't happen.
If a team wants to give up a 1st for him... they can have him. I wouldn't feel bad about missing out on that deal at all. I'd do our 2nd this year and perhaps a player. But that is only if we're able to work out a deal before the trade is completed.

I dunno. He is definitely a talent and could put our offense over the top, but he's almost guaranteed to cause a distraction at some point.

While I wouldn't offer a 1st round pick for him... I'm not worried about the contract. He would only be traded here (or anywhere) unless he agrees to a new deal. Nobody is giving up significant assets for 1 year of ODB. So, in that scenario, Paarag would easily craft a contract that protects the team and allows them to get out of the deal if he does anything that hurts the team. I think the contract is a non-issue.
I would happily pay him $18M+ a year for his play if the contract protected the team from his drama.
He could easily be had for a 4th or 5th round pick. At this point the Giants are just trying to get rid of him

What if we did it Jimmy G style: Trade a second round pick (in this case #59) and let him play out the final year of his contract to see if he's a fit before extending him?

No chance. They would get a 3rd just for letting him walk in FA. They'll want an early 3rd at the least.

I wouldn't do it. Simply because he's already stated he will be a headache without a new deal. And even if it's a bluff... he will absolutely do it again next offseason if he's facing a franchise tag. And remember, at that point all his money would be 100% guaranteed. So there would be no recourse to protect the team contractually.
Would only make the trade if he has already agreed to a deal. Otherwise, nope.
