Is Hurns any good?

He is good when healthy. Has missed 11 games over the last two seasons.

Ward's missed that many games in one season and we're still dropping $8.5M on him. SMH.

Didn't have a choice, he has to pass a physical to remove that 5th yr option. Not sure he was 100%

Anyway we already have a couple injury prone players on the team, no need to overpay for another one

bring him in for a visit, no helicopter ride

Pryor is still out there too

Gotta at least look at him. Being him in to compete. If he wants production, this would be the place

No

He's good in redzone/end zone too. Why not...?

Because he will be overpaid, his hamstrings will be f**ked half way thru training camp, and he will take the spot of a rookie/developing Bourne.

Doesn't have very good speed, hands, or leaping ability. Is listed taller than he is. He is a less talented and younger Pierre Garcon.

Is this an attempt knock on Garcon or an attempt to prop up Hurns?

By the way Garcons Combine Numbers...

- One thing has changed vs those numbers, he's gotten ripped and is hella strong.

I love Pierre. My comparison was meant for size and speed only.
Pierre is faster, stronger and quicker than Hurns....overall a better athlete

I said size and speed only? You think 4.48 is that much faster than 4.55?

Why did we pick up his 5th year option?
Shouldn't we have evaluated him, and if he balled out and stayed heathy in 2017, offer him a contract going Fwd? They did this with other players on the team and even stated that they were doing this. But not with Ward?

Never understood this.

Sign him. Put him in camp with the other guys we have. Mix'em and shake'em up until some body come out on top. Competition

Do appreciate the "he's going to be overpaid so we shouldn't even look" commentary before we even know his market.

Have you not seen every player so far has been overpaid? Especially the WRs.

Lol the way theyre signing players other teams are getting rid of, they better take advantage of that 2 year window thats about to open and shut real quick. Theyre not building for long term, theyre building based off theyre small ounce of success they had last year and now thinking its superbowl or bust lmao!

Gurley is the only real threat in that offense. You stop Gurley and and that offense is mediocre at best.
Give Hurns a 1yr 9mil prove it deal

Ok even I have to laugh at this LOL

Haha yeah maybe if the NFL decides to get rid of the salary cap tomorrow. They are going to have some decisions to make in the next few years when they have to resign Gurley and Donald. They just better hope they can hit on draft picks because they are going to have to turn over a lot of that roster to stay under that cap.

I have never seen a team overpay a player who they didn't give a contract to. What possible harm would it cause to check in? This is silly. Teams should always do due diligence.

I agree on a 1 year deal.

Most 1st rd picks get the 5th yr option...He was never evaluated by this FO and coaching staff when they had to make the decision (it gets placed a year prior).

If he balled out you don't have to pay him a monster contract for another yr.

End of the day it's not that big of a deal they have almost $40 million in cap space and can carry that over to next yr (add it to the $53 million). They're sitting pretty.

So do you think he will get more or less than donte Moncrief's one yr fully guaranteed $9.6 million (with another two million in incentives)?

I'm sure they've looked at hurns and everyone else in FA (most people assumed he'd be cut) if they are gonna want him, they will most likely have to overpay that's what people are saying
