This is probably the only free agent I'd want Shanahan to sign till the draft.
He is 33. Gruden probably already has him scheduled for a visit.
He's 33 but still pretty decent player and wouldn't be all that expensive, I'd say a two year deal would be sufficient.
Pretty expensive when you factor in paying like 4 million for the 3 games he plays.
Huge pass! Eifert was the te we should've gotten, we don't need a 33 year old
Huge pass, but instead of signing someone that's been healthy you want to sign someone who struggles to stay health.....hmmm makes sense.
The upside Eifert has is much more impactful than a slow ass 33 year old Lewis, what were lewis' numbers in his best year compared to Eifert's?
Upside!!! Lol dude has played in 10 games the last two seasons, that's horrible. There's a reason why he re-signed with Cincy, ain't no one wanna take a chance on his broke ass.
And slow ass??
You act like Kittle and Celek are so much faster. And it's not like I want Lynch to sign Lewis to a $50 million contract.
I swear some of you overreact like you're paying players outta your own pocket. smh

Don't think Celek is much faster, but Kittle is a lot faster. 4.5 40 yard dash compared to 4.8 and add the fact that Lewis is 33 and that 4.8 is from 10 years ago. Lol
Don't think he runs a 4.5 when playing though.
So..... Lewis is slower than his time while playing also. Like all players with pads on. Little is still way faster with the ball in his hand than Lewis when they both have pads on.
What was the point of that comment? Didn't make sense. Like they both don't wear pads when playing. Lol
I don't know man, he's beating LB's in coverage and making plays in the video above and that's 2017, I don't think he's as slow as you're making him out to be. I mean C'mon, show me how fast Eifert was in 2017. The only speed Eifert had in 2017 was being top 10 for fastest to IR. Don't get me wrong though, if Eifert was healthy, no doubt he would've been one of the first players signed on the first day of free agency, but as they say "you can't make the club in the tub"!!!
My last comment was that you compared 40 times to playing speed, do you really think Kittle plays with 4.5 speed? I mean if that's the case he would be one of the best deep ball players in the game. How didn't that make sense?

Why pick up a 33 year old slow te in the first place to take away playing time from the younger guys? Eifert was at least much younger and has more ability when healthy.
Why pick up someone who's only started 10 games in two seasons in the first place?
Btw Eifert was working with Dalton as his QB, was Mercedes QB situation better?
Colts are bringing back G Jack Mewhort on a one-year deal with a base value of $1.5m and another $1.5m in incentives, source says. He had interest from other teams but Indy's confidence in him and his knee despite his landing on IR the last two years was huge.

This is the guard I wanted, but I didn't know he landed on IR two years in row due to a bad knee. So pass. I thought the Jonathan Cooper pick up was decent.

Another on the list of overrated free agents on this board. Sometimes another teams trash is not treasure.
He's probably never gonna play again. He's got degenerative knee issues that sidelined him the last two seasons. Would've been a waste of money for us. The size of the deal the colts gave him demonstrates their lack of confidence in his ability to come back at the same level he once was.

I agree, just like how Jimmie Ward ends up on IR year in and year out, waste of money. I wouldn't have minded if Lynch and Shanahan picked up Tyler Eifert, but that's until I knew how bad his injuries were, I don't think the 49ers will have any interest in players who have a hard time staying or getting healthy, hard pass on all players with the injury bug.

Agreed. I just don't get how Jimmie's bones are so damn brittle. He's made of glass.
