OL Jonathan Cooper

Matt Maiocco‏ @MaioccoNBCS

The #49ers signed guard Jonathan Cooper to a one-year deal. Cooper (6-2, 308) was originally chosen by the Cardinals in the first round (seventh overall) of 2013 NFL Draft.

Interesting

I do not understand this signing at all. It makes perfect sense.
Is he better than Fusco/Tomlinson/Kilgore/Beadles? Probably a depth signing.
Has been terrible every team he has played for. Maybe they think he can be better in this system than in a power running system like the past?
I recall Bruce Arians calling him out for lack of toughness.

More competition never hurts.
Former first rounder turned bust. Worst case scenario he's another decent sized backup. I like it, atleast there might be a chance for some upside...although highly unlikely
I'm curious to hear from some of the football experts on this guy. I know he has bounced around a bit, he's played both left and right guard, he's had injury issues in the past, and he was the starting left guard for the Cowboys for most of last season.
He's the guard equivalent of Jimmie Ward. Dude is always hurt.

I thought he was good for the Cowboys last season?

Cowboys fans seem to like him. Then again the rest of their OL is very good.
