He could end up stealing one of the starting spots...

That clip of him running down the field. Wow.

This kid is ideal for our scheme.

So was Hoyer

Hoyer wasn't ideal for the scheme. He just knew it better than any other QB that was on the market.

Wrong. Hoyer wasn't ideal for the scheme. He just knew it.

+1 Hoyer wasn't brought here to lead us to the playoffs he was just here to run the system.

He's a scheme fit. Finding guys who fit what you do is the key. Often teams get a talented player that doesn't fit exactly what they do and find themselves disappointed. He may be a slight underachiever due to his draft position (7th overall) but with the Cowboys he showed that in a Zone heavy scheme, he's up to the challenge.

I agree. Dont write him off just yet. This is also probably his last shot at an NFL roster. He has a lot to play for.
Teams need OL, he will play somewhere else if it doesn't work out here
I like this. Not because Cooper is that good of a G, but because now in the draft we don't have to reeeeach for a G since we didn't have one. If a G is BPA we take one. If they aren't, we pass and pick BPA.

I was worried we wouldn't sign a guard at all in FA and that we would have to reach or feel the need to use draft capital to trade up to get a starting LG. Now if we like a guard in the draft we can let the board play out and if they are at the top of our board we draft him. Before we might have decided to trade up 15 spots out of desperation to get a guard. Not anymore. I say defense with the first two picks unless Ragnow is on the board at 59.
Hopefully Cooper doesn't take it in the pooper this year. Time to live up to your first round status, kid!

Hoyer was brought here to teach it to Beathard who was drafted to get Beathard until we fix our line and give the keys to who it belongs and it's Jimmy G's
I just read cooper was a first round guy.

What's been his problem?

He's been hurt with different ailments every year he's been in the league. He just needs to stay healthy and I think he's a starter for us.

Major injuries, at least early on

Eh...he has had injury problems, but that has hardly been his only, or biggest, problem. Plays soft, pass protection issues etc. that being said I think he can contribute here.

If you simply think of Cooper as a slight upgrade over Fusco, than I'm okay with this. Still want us going O-Line in one of the first 2 picks in April.

I don't see us drafting a OG that high but we could end up drafting an OT to develop.

Agree. Future LT is a significantly greater need.
