Supposedly, Dez wants a one year 'prove it' deal. Let's say he signs on and has a good 2018 season with the 49ers. So 2019 rolls around and he wants a multi year deal at age 30. Nope. So then he's a one year rental? This front office is planning for the future. There are young WRs to develop and signing Dez prevents that. If the front office was in win now mode then maybe, but they are making moves with 2019+ in mind.

I think we are in win now mode but it's obvious they don't think he can be more productive than what we have already imo. Just not a no brainer type of fit especially with personnel we already have once again..
