Whatever it is, the Dez Bryant people are typing about isn't the Dez Bryant that has actually existed for a long time.
As was always the case, Dez still loses interest if he's not the focal point of the offense, but it has been years since he's been able to get enough separation to be the focal point of the offense.
As a point of comparison, remember in 2012 when Harbaugh brought in Randy Moss and everyone was all excited because of who they remembered Randy Moss to be, but his primary usage was a decoy to get other guys open, and his secondary usage was as a short-yardage chain mover on curl routes when DBs mistakenly gave him room?
That's basically Dez Bryant. FWIW that's basically Sammy Watkins in the Rams offense last year too.
People are excited because of the name, not the actual player.
Then why has he led the team in average targets per game all these years?

He was released because the Cowboys have salary cap issues and he refused to take less than what he felt he deserved.

I still fear his ego in the locker room.

You literally made that up.
They offered him nothing. They flat out cut him because he sucks. This is widely reported.

Too bad Dez can't rush the passer.

I personally have watched a lot of Cowboys games over the last 3 years, especially last year and most recently on NFLN replay. I've stated numerous times why I don't necessarily agree with the above assessment, nor do I think he's the same Dez from his all pro/pro bowl years. I am excited about what he currently brings, not the name.

Unless he is willing to come over here for super cheap no thank you. He has zero speed left...NONE and is completely washed up. His only value is as a move the chains/ Red Zone target. And we have guys who already do the former just fine. He was on the decline two years ago and last year he was a complete disaster.

Yup. What's the value of a mediocre possession receiver? $3M/year? I think that may too rich for him. But I could understand the Niners doing a deal like that.
Dez will sit behind Garcon, Taylor and Goodwin.
