49ERS release Mike Person

I like it, Person will battle for the RG spot, and if for some reason Garnett gets it, Person will be backing up the whole interior line, so he's got good value for us, especially with his roster flexibility. Basically only has this year guaranteed, so if he sucks, we cut bait with pretty much no cap hit. We need to look for a T in round 2, who can back up the T spots, but also perhaps battle for the RG spot.

That's a nothing price that we can probably get out of in 3 months if we want/need to. How can anyone complain about this??
Nice call by Thl, re: true contract. I believe he got it exactly. Well done. And as for value? Good grief we finally got someone to start that keeps the OL intact and will for the first time in ages, be the same as last yr finished. Big, big bonus in being able to play C and G. Lastly, we don't have to depend on GARnett who was not that dependable. We still need a starter OG in FA, or one in top 3 picks.

Right now if any injury, Garnett comes in so we are exposed on the OL. This was a huge move to cement the OL. But now we need to get a dependable backup OG/C and same at OT. But we are miles ahead of where we were last week at this time. Way to go JL, kyle, Peters, and Mayhew. Great start. Also good news for Person because he KNOWS he is needed here. He will get to play...to start...on a team ready to contend if a bunch of breaks go our way.

What a great way for us to go into FA. Couldn't have gotten better news.

Sorry GM ,meant to include that, In other posts i have noted that we need an OG starter in FA(and Saffold would be a dandy) but if not, get a 2nd tier FA OG, and then draft an OG starter in top 3 picks. But having a lock on RG now, before anything else is done, is a huge move in the right direction. For the moment, anyway, it seems as if we have been heard.

Best case is that he's used for depth. He's a big reason why we were destroyed in the trenches against Minny and the Rams. We need an upgrade here.

Yeah I remember Richardson really got the best of him that day.
sign and trade?
Happy with this.
Solid re-signing.
Quality thread title. Now if they can only find the missing ring.
Very happy this deal got done, and for a great price tag, thought he might want more than $3M a yr, and this may be $9M total with incentives.
Solid player,solid price
3 mil per? Yeah...that's just good business.
We signed Incognito?
Baalke boy lives to fight another day.
