Is that all you see here, or are you just trying to stir the pot?

Reasonable sigh for depth, flexibility and continuity.

Good depth signing as Kyle intended. I still hope and expect the team to upgrade at OG.

Don't worry my friend. This will be the Kilgore 2.0 experience.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say...
Meh, hopefully he's not starting again

He's the 31'st highest paid guard. Which means he's being paid average starter money. The team seems to like the idea of him and Garnett competing again for a starter spot which is what will probably happen.

In theory though that contract doesn't prohibit them from adding another player or better player should the opportunity present itself.

Good news. That's a reasonable price. He is familiar with the system, and gives us some stability. It as also gives us a little time to figure out the oline without being in crisis mode about it. We need to get better at OG, and we need to prepare for Staley leaving at LT too.
Excellent news. We will have a fully established 0-line (w/ the same 5 starters) going into next year for the first time since when? Harbaugh's first year? Improvement starts with stability and grows with experience and repetition together. Working together over time builds chemistry.

Five guys working together are much better than five individuals trying to learn their own assignments separately for the first time. imho.

This is a great step forward in rebuilding the 0-line for the long term. imho.

Great signing and security and it still allows us to groom a talented rookie G. Like the signing of Kilgore/Richburg last year, if a great fit and more talented player hits FA, we can still sign him too.

Good move. I'm very surprised he didn't test FA. He was the #1 G on the market. He finally has a stable home!
