Colts traded for Brisset at the start of last season. They made the trade hoping they could salvage the season and because they needed a strong backup behind Luck hence why their owner said he wouldn't consider trading him. We're 1-7. It's over.
This isn't real estate no one is trading for someone to hopefully flip it.

trade for James with the hopes you can flip him for a higher pick than what it took to acquire him? this aint Fantasy Football.
Teams do dumb things when qbs are involved - like Bradford for example. There are even rumors that teams were offering 1st round picks for Brisset. What did Hundley go for again?
And if he gets hurt which more than likely happens with this team...he's on the books for $21 million next yr.
You take that chance so you can turn a 4th into a 3rd? No f**king way. Winston is not a very good qb and is a turnover machine. Dude is getting benched for Fitz lol.
The juice is not even close to worth the squeeze. Horrible idea imo sorry dude.

I already retracted my desire to do this trade once another poster pointed out the $21 million. Take away the money and I still think potentially flipping a 5th or 6th (if they will take it) into a 2nd or 3rd... or nothing... is worth the risk.

This isn't a trade proposal, but I didn't want to create another thread for him. I was just thinking. This guy has talent, but who does he remind you of most in the NFL right now. Kirk Cousins, that high risk, high reward thrower that Shannahan fell in love with. Arians lives or dies by this in his offense. What about Winston in an offense like ours, emphasizing the running game first. He might be a nice reclamation project and insurance policy in the event he is released. If we bring him in on a cheap contract, it might be worth a look, especially if we are able to trade one of our QBs for a late round pick which is doubtful. For the record, I am not all on in this, but figured I would open the topic up for debate. Maybe I should have started a new thread

Sure why not, one of the things we all love the most about Jimmy G is his boneheaded interceptions. Why not get the guy who is best in the league at that and available because of it

I would like the signing of Winston as long as it's cheap. The dude has an incredibly special arm. Some throws he makes you see why he went 1 overall. Unfortunately I believe that has also led him to throw some of his interceptions. Maybe he thinks he can always fit it in that tight window. If he can get coached up and shows growth I can see that kinda signing netting some serious return in the future if he stays here more than a year.

He should go to Pittsburgh, Tomlin would be good for him. Having said that, he turns the ball over too much to be a viable starting QB.

Wait is this actually a thread proposing we should try and acquire Jameis Winston? That's just a fantastic idea, let's add a QB who threw over twice as many picks as our own starting QB who's been scrutinized and raked over the coals for throwing too many picks. Why the hell does anyone even remotely consider the thought of JW as competition to Jimmy? It's plain dumb AF.

Yes thanks. But he wants $30 Million a year. He's going to have to be humbled alot, or just patiently wait it out.
