Is this the final year on his contract? Maybe the Niners can get him as a free agent in 2021 lol. Or trade for him midseason if the Chargers fall out of the race and with them lacking leverage if he has no intention of re-signing with them.

Yes. Chargers have a lot of other free agents coming up too, including Melvin Ingram and Keenan Allen. They'll only have one tag. If they don't have him signed long-term by then, one would think they'd use the tag on him, but I suppose you never know.

Once they move into the new stadium, they'll have the money to keep all those guys.

So apparently, if Bosa is traded after June 1, his $14.36M cap hit goes entirely to the team he gets traded to.
If we trade Dee Ford after June 1, we save $14.31M in cap space.
So Scottie's rumor is still technically possible, especially if it turns into a Khalil Mack situation of sitting out the offseason before his fifth year and then eventually gets traded for two future 1sts in early September. I doubt it though, nor do I have any idea if paying him in 2021 and beyond is remotely possible.
