Either that or trades. We got Laken Tomlinson for a 5th round pick. He's now an entrenched starter for us.

We'll probably need replacements for AA and Blair. And we should invest in a #2 TE to augment Kittle's value in this offense.

Carl Nassib is the only that may be in our range, but I rather focus on retaining our existing talent...find some budget buys for depth, and then focus on a select number of players in the draft.

Love this guy too!! Underrated, but can play!

Blair surely has another year on his contract? In any case I would far rather re-sign than replace him.

So I would probably use the 1st round pick on an impact receiver which leaves two fifths, a sixth and two seventh rounders. The team has shown some ability with late round picks, and as we have some top players coming to the end of their contracts I don't think we will worry too much about FA unless a real bargain appears. We need depth in the inside line and we will need to cover players who insist on leaving.

Really, I think it will be a dull FA period.

My sentiments too. I'm thinking it will be a 'slower' FA period, where we can reflect on some options. I think we do need to get a journeyman C/G type that can start if needed. Resign our talent as well. Blair shud come cheaper with his current injury, ( and we have his replacements on the roster now). AA might be a FA loss for us, but again, we have his replacements on roster already (although if we have a 'BIG' FA signing, this shud be it !). I'd actually leave Safety and TE alone, the guys we have and the depth is fine. They have proven their talent and value, I'd re-sign/extend these guys. I think we let Mc.Kinnon go, as I think his injury is career ending, and we have a talented stable in place already.

Would love to see the Niners get some draft capital in the earlier rounds, whether that's trading players for picks or trading back in the draft.

Trade down what would be a late 1st. rounder for some 2nd. - 4th. rounders wud be great!

It will be the first time in a very long time we might not have one big need. It's insane really! The off-season will be all about paying our own dudes.

Ehhh, I think we have some needs. I would like at CB depth for Sherman's eventual replacement. WR is also a need considering most of our guys are unreliable. Would also look into Safety as well, since Ward is in his last year and Tartt is meh.

Depending on how Jimmie Ward ends the season, healthy, 0 INT's or manages to get 1, 49ers need a replacement or upgrade at FS/Safety.

Karl Joseph
Anthony Harris
Von Bell
Rodney McLeod

Either way, Jimmie Ward is also an upcoming free agent.

IDK, I think our safety's have been good and at the very least 'healthy' i.e. available. LOL, But, I'd stand pat at SS for sure, @ FS is where there's room to ponder. If Ward could be re-signed to a friendly deal (2 yr. $8Mill. type), I say we bring in a value/bargain guy (I don't see an Earl Thomas out der this year), or draft a guy to compete/replace him.

Good post GEEK!
I don't see us making any big splashes, instead focusing on keeping our guys.

We might look to sign a few bargains for depth/camp competition, maybe look at some former 1st/2nd rounders who didn't produce for their current side but have potential to break out with us.

Wouldn't expect any high profile signings though.

As far as the draft goes were %100 trading our first round and collecting some 2nd and 3rd rounders.. we probably will trade back a couple of times honestly.. KS and JL are not sitting back with no 2nd 3rd or 4th rounders in the draft.. so the question is who will we be targeting in the mid to late 2nd round and 3rd rounds.. there still is very very good talent available in that part of the draft

Impossible to try and predict who trades picks from now on til the draft.. i mean most trades involving picks don't happen until the team is up to pick and makes a trade with another team... so it's a unlimited amount of possibilities

TRUE, question was more hypothetical and rhetorical, but definitely see ya point. Just wish we could get some OLine depth, and a top Safety with one pick.lol

We could if someone wants to overpay.
