dude is probably looking for 1 last big paycheck, we cannot afford that especially on a 30 plus yr old cb

Probably right. salary wise. Still younger than Sherman and that worked out ok.

Harris reminds me of the once $80 million free agent CB that we signed...

DON'T WANT HIM !!

Nate Dog Clements!

We have k Williams no it's a no go on Harris jr.

I agree with this, maybe in the following order though.

CB, OL, WR, S, RB, hell maybe even another TE, try to do what the pats almost did a few years ago with Gronk and Hernandez.

No Edge?

Need another stud WR and edge rusher and oline. We held Mahomes to 10 flucking points through 3 quarters. 10. You make prudent changes/upgrades only. Good lord
OL and CB should be priority.
Cut Sherman

Cheap free agents I'd like to see the 9ers go after:

Jalen Mills
Carl Nassib
Karl Joseph - I think will be borderline affordable
Joe Haeg
Xavier Sua-Filo
The Niners needs to take care of their main pieces and then look to free agency if there is any cap room left. Niners are still the top team in the NFC if they can keep their core together or atleast most of it. Obviously Kittle,Buckner, and AA are the most crucial to get signed. Losing Thomas is not much of a loss, he has been really disappointing. It's scary just how much better that the Dline could be if he lived up to his draft position. He is only 24 and still time to live up to those expectations but the Niners just don't have the cap room to wait it out and take that gamble.

Unless they want to reshuffle the deck and take a different approach.

These guys would be GREAT additions too. I wanted us to get Nassib (destroyed us single handedly& kicked Staleys butt in 2018) last year. Wanted us to draft Sua-Filo. Think we can get these guys if we tried, albeit Joseph is a SS, and were pretty strong with Tartt there, and we have some people coming in to challenge as the backups. But, still wouldn't be opposed to signing him for depth at both FS and SS.

I wanted Nassib for several years now. Would love to have him but I have a feeling we don't like him for some reason.

Damn!! don't say dat,,lol
Here's how I see it unfolding, team says we're not planning on any other restructures but extensions, cuts/trades will create some room:

McKinnon- Hes either cut soon or has a massive redo of his deal that says us a bunch of money.
Goodwin- If he's not traded immediately when rules allow it, ie. if we don't find a trade at the combine he's gonna be cut
Person-see Goodwin, plan will be to replace with Brunskill or a mid round pick we get by trading down from 31
Extensions to Buckner, Juice & Sherman will lower their cap numbers for this year

Ward- Niners will let him test FA & the same thing will play out that it did last year, nobody is gonna pay him top dollar & he returns on a decent deal for both sides.

Sanders- Team will not let him walk, giving up a 3 & 4 for him was too much for a rental, we end up with a 3 year deal for him.

AA- Cali guy, Buckners best friend and college teammate. Both sides want to see this workout. He'll get the tag at first while sides work on a deal that ends up being 3-4 years.

Other internal FAs- Day is gone, Blaire will be back, valuable rotation piece and coming off an ACL his market will be low, Moore, Bourne, Wilson, Mullins, all back. The team won't keep both Brieda and Coleman. If they can afford to keep Coleman they will, if not, Brieda will walk.

FA- Zero big name deals done but we'll see a player or 2 added on "prove it" deals.

31- Trade down and we BPA all the way.
