Jets released CB Trumaine Johnson.
The Jets save $3 million from Johnson's release but will eat $12 million in dead money. Signed to a five-year deal in 2018, Johnson never came close to living up to his contract before getting benched last season. The Jets will move forward with Darryl Roberts, Blessuan Austin, and Arthur Maulet, but are expected to be aggressive in free agency. They've been linked to Byron Jones and James Bradberry.

Maybe we should kick the tires on Johnson if hes willing to come to a contender cheap on a prove it deal!

I don't see why not, Bill Walsh back in the day used to do this also. A guy wud get cut, and next thing you know we'd have him in for a looksee and sometimes a signing. This was before salary cap era, bu the 'concept' can still be explored. And like you said- on a CHEAP prove it deal. If he turns it down, oh well, at least we tried.

I'm in! He's only 30 and can have Breida's 22 when he leaves.

He's a zone corner that flopped in Gregg Williams' man to man scheme.
