They're already gonna have enough cap space regardless of what they do this yr. when you're on the cusp of winning a SB, sitting on your butt and not adding good vet help is stupid imo. We can't just assume every rookie we're drafting is gonna be amazing yr one.
I really hate what they've done overall so far. People on SM have given me s**t saying I don't know what I'm talking about and it's only March lol. Guess what this is exactly the time you make your roster better. Why not use every resource to make your team better? FA is one of those resources...as far as Joey you better be willing to throw Mack type trade picks for him. Not a chance in hell he just walks out of LA for nothing.
I'm hearing whispers that Dax Prescott is close to closing a 4-year deal with DAL rumored to be $35m per year.

Good for Dak.
Glad it's not us
Ndamokung Suh and Robby Anderson both would've had to have come in at discounted price tags of about $6 million per year max, per my estimates, for those signings to fit into the 49ers' salary cap puzzle. Came in at $8m and $10m. A big George Kittle extension is priority No. 1.

I understand not signing Peat on the IOL because he was a rip off but come on.
Even if most of you feel like we were being prudent, keep in mind our salary cap position next year it will be close to 60 million so we could've easily restructured one more contract or let go of a player or two to compensate for signing a good player to help our team immediately.
We're forgetting the Saints improved their roster and so did Seattle. We still have to try to outscore teams like Kansas City Seattle or the Saints or if we play Baltimore In the Super Bowl we still have to put up points against their good defense. It's not just about our team it's about who we will be facing and how they improved their teams While we remain idle And rely on our rookie class to make an immediate impact? Yeah how often does that work out

Edit - we would be so screwed if we had to pay Jimmy that kind of money

To be fair there's still some decent DT's on the market. But I agree with you if we don't sign anyone else. You can't just subtract Buckner and expect a roster-scraping Walker to make up the difference.
