Losing Buckner and adding nobody inside would be pretty stupid...

Yes, yes it is

They have to add a vet, Timmy Jernigan ? Corey Luiget ? Snacks ? Akeem Spence ? Jarran Reed ? Shelby Harris ? Derek Wolfe ? Vinny Curry ?

I hope they do - someone like a Shelby Harris yet not sure what he would cost.

Good for Dak.

Glad it's not us

Edit - we would be so screwed if we had to pay Jimmy that kind of money

So here's my question. Everyone kept saying Dallas couldn't afford Dak, Amari Cooper, etc. and yet, here they are, affording everyone. Someone explain how they're able to do it and we are not doing sh*t?

They had $70+mil and still lost Jones, Quinn and a slew of others. All they did was resign 2 of their own while losing a bunch of other important pieces and replace them with lesser, cheaper players. the niners at least got #13 for Buckner, so not not really sure where you think they are doing all these great things over in DAL

Very true, they did get McCoy and Poe which helps their line quite a bit in my opinion but their pass rush and secondary are lacking now. Not to mention they have a huge hole at center

Very true there's a couple good tackles left like Dareus and company. At this point though I'm not sure how much better any of them would be then DJ Jones assuming he's healthy which I think he will be

I'm fine with another guy like DJ Jones since 1) Jones is good and 2) I don't want us to be in a funk if he gets hurt again and 3) rotation is key.

I concur! We don't want to repeat of last year with our rotational guys

What about him?

Love the guy but he tows the company line more than Maiocco.

We absolutely could have afforded either...both IF we wanted them. It has nothing to do with the cap or a couple $M.

Funny how they always miss out on players by $1M or $2M APY. Right?

100 things can do if you really want a player...like NOT putting parameters on yourself for player restructures.

We're also middle of the pack in cap space as of today.

To name a few, I doubt they come cheap.

Knowing they went after Suh, one of these guys has to get a call soon.

Shelby Harris might be too much, I hope they try for Corey Liuget.

Son of a f**k! Well at least we tried it seems like we do that quite a bit but don't get the free agent we want unless we overpay them significantly. You would think since we are a Super Bowl team these players would take a discount to come on our team. I guess we're not at New England Patriots status quite yet. Who is the best out of the remaining tackles? Or better yet who is the best pass rusher out of them

I think Suh picked Tampa because of Tom Brady and their chances of going to the Super Bowl. IMO

Lynch: "Well of COURSE we were aggressive for Suh! As you SHOULD be, when a player of that caliber is available! I'm not quite sure we he didn't accept our offer, it was pretty comparable to what he took with the Bucs. BUT we are happy with the team that we have now, and we really do believe we can compete with what we've got! You don't just walk on in here and take a guy like Solomon Thomas' job no no no "

I mean Suh went back to Tampa who just got Brady so they looked desirable and obviously familiar with him. Glad we were in on him should mean we are going to add a DT of the vet variety

Middle of the pack in space, but something like 7 mill is needed for rookies.

Being 1-2 mill on apy below what a player gets is maybe an indication of the FO placing a max value of what they feel a guy is worth. They may prefer to be overly cautious. You can call it money ball but the Pats and Ravens have done the same in the past.

You seemingly don't agree with the FO's philosophy and approach but that doesn't make them wrong, nor does it make your philosophy wrong either. There is no one surefire philosophy to building your team.

Very true I just wish we offered him a little bit more but I guess we will be saving a little money with some of the other players out there. Who is the best pass rusher in that group. I thought Dareus was really good but I don't know what the hell happened to him

I think they are next years Browns with an aging Brady trying to learn a new offense. Paper tigers.
