Always the bridesmaid never the bride
They got a lot of the people they wanted last year
Yeah they got a few but like I said in my post just because they kicked ass last year doesn't mean they're doing it this year. You have to maintain the competitive advantage and we did not one bit. We actually got worse. We better now the draft that's all I'm saying because signing a player like Harris from Denver for four or 5 million would've been worth it instead of people blindly saying well its part of the plan, its part of their plan.....People should realize that teams don't always stay the same they get worse or better and so far we are worse.

If he was only being offered one year deals, the best move for him would be take a one year deal from Denver. Staying with a system and culture he already knows will give him to best opportunity to replicate and or get better.
Betting on himself, proving hes for real, will give him a better shot at securing a long term deal next year.
So it still not all about money, and still has to do with player preference.
Or take a one yr deal on a elite defense like SF that just got TWO DL paid over $170M lol?
Staying in Denver netted him what? a one yr deal.
End of the day a big part of all of it is wanting to get paid especially at his age.
Who knows maybe no other team in the league offered him jack s**t. I'll bet money if SF offered him anything more than what Denver did his ass would be heading to SF.

That doesn't sound like a guy wanting to sign a prove it deal. You don't hire a new agent on the eve of fa, especially one as prominent as Drew Rosenhaus if your end game is to settle for a one year deal. This man wanted to get paid and was preparing to leave Denver to do so. I'm sure his preference would have been to get paid and return to Denver. That's most players preference to stay on their team and get paid.
Unfortunately his market was dry as evidenced that he sat on the fa market this long, so he decided to take the best deal he had currently. He returned to his old team for what could amount to less money than he got last year.
He took the best deal he could get and now has to play for something better next year. That part I agree with you on.
Thats was my whole point in the first place. He's a good player and settled for peanuts. I feel that if we offered a mil or mil and a half more we would have had him imo. It's whatever now. Just saying we could have had a good football player for cheap that would have absolutely contributed positively. The niners likely were never that interested. It's whatever now. This off-season they have been more interested in signing cheap players connected to the coaching staff and using the draft to add more talent. We still have a good team and if they hit on those picks even better. I just would have liked to add one or two high end rotational veteran players to the team.

Oh I agree I've been bummed out how they "attacked" FA overall. We lost two big starts and retained two starters. Didn't improve anywhere and actually got worse overall.
Sucks, is what it is now

I'm actually glad that we're not hearing any rumors fly off about the 9ers, cause if there were it's all b******t anyway. They're pretty tight lipped about things, shoot, no one had no clue the Buckner trade was in the works all this time they were after Odell Beckham for a year and a half. I'm just saying in the end some fans just gotta have some patience and believe that they're working on upgrading the roster. And after coming from a Super Bowl they give me no reason not to believe.
However we can't always assume they are doing stuff behind close doors to improve the team. Some front offices even ours might actually say yes we lost Buckner but we're going to improve the offense and the offensive line. They might be willing to let the people we already have like DJ Jones and Solomon Thomas take over and see it as a loss as far as the line goes and upgrade other areas of the team.
What we are saying as fans, instead of accepting it as a downgrade, try to get a player like Harris or whoever to help with the net loss. It's really simple and it would not of cost much money at all.

Bigtime this. I almost always support the front office and put my trust in them however this was a move that they failed to make and they are wrong. No two ways about it this made sense in every single way especially financially.

100% Might as well throw Clowney and Michael Bennett in there too and they will have a great pass rush.

Damn...need to check the acquisitions but it feels like the Ravens are pushing hard to close the gap on the Chiefs.

Besides Clowney, there's no one left worth signing.
