Totally. I was more intrigued by the idea of how hard Kyle is going after TE's. Allegedly.

I think their trying to upgrade their tight end number 2. Aside from giving them more fluidity in their offensive attack, I think they'd like to find someone that can take some snaps from Kittle and give him a breather once in awhile.

Barrows said something along these lines too. Something about paying him a ton of money and you don't wanna dent your Ferrari after purchasing it.

I'm all for it...even last year. Trying to build an offense Garoppolo might be most comfortable with. Plus like you said, a dominant 2nd TE means less of a need for a dominant XWR and with Kyle's philosophy, it gives him the added 1-up on defenses who won't know if we're running or passing where 3 WR's do make it more predictable.

Jordan Reed if signed I don't think makes it past the preseason. 7 concussions, this guy needs to retire!!!

Agreed. When you miss the entire season from a concussion sustained from preseason, that's a problem. He was still in the protocol in February. Guy needs to hang it up.

They aren't even gonna have preseason this yr lol. I highly doubt that dude plays again...if by some miracle he's cleared I think he would make sense as a TE that can come in and let GK get's a breather. That would be a good role for Reed as well.
