BoB is almost certainly on his way out, and has made that job unattractive to potential candidates for next year.

Not really. Aside from not having a 1st, they have cap space and a franchise QB. That's more than a lot of these bad rebuilding teams.

No 1st this year.
No 1st or 2nd next year.

Watson, Tunsil, Stills and Fuller all FA's. Took on terrible contracts in Cooks and David Johnson. And BoB is still in house and may be the one who reups some of those deals.

Not sure the higher profile candidates will even want to interview for them IMO.

The owner is the idiot at the end of the day for 1 not firing BoB after that s**t show in KC and 2 promoting him to GM when that s**t never works unless youre lucky and have 1 if not the greatest coaches ever overseeing things like Belichick. Even as an owner if you just let the football guys do their job you have to step in a realize when s**t doesnt make sense.

If Cooks stays healthy, that contract will be a bargain considering the Rams took all of the dead money hit. That is a big if though.

How long before we see a similar tweet for Kittle?

IDTS,, him plus a 5th. rounder on a guy like Mc.Tevin Agin or the Nebraska DT (fastest DT at combine) could (along with what we have left)-Replace Buckner.
All them<75%-80% Buckner... same if we added Dareus..

I'm just trying to figure out how the Saints are going to be able to afford a $20M/yr WR, $25M/yr QB, Kamara, and one of the highest paid OL, and still be able to field a championship level defense?

Draft replacements before the holes open up. This way you minimize the number of rookies getting thrown into the fire.

He's probably saying when his deal is coming up, I swear teams like the browns, cowboys and saints have unlimited cap space

They're going to be in trouble in a couple years. Terron Armstead and Kamara are going to get paid.

The secret is having Kamara and Ryan Ramczyk on rookie deals. Ramczyk is in year 4 so he'll get a huge raise next year (5th year option). Kamara is in year 4 and will go from a $2.4M cap hit to $15M. Armstead restructured his deal so his cap hit this year is only $8.4M which jumps to $16.3M next year. After that, he'll probably earn $18-20M per year on a new deal.

Marcus Lattimore is on a rookie deal too. The key to being able to sustain great teams is hitting on draft picks (Saints) or finding bargain free agents (Patriots).

Not yet. I honestly thought he would return to the Jets.

Add in that Brees will start regressing and they will need a top notch replacement.
Clowney says he'll take a 1 year deal from a Super Bowl contender.
Can we make this happen?

Would be quite the coup considering he's a division rival.
