Report: Cards trade for DeAndre Hopkins

Wow
To play devils advocate .

Apparently Hopkins was getting ready for a hold out to make more money even though he had only played 2 out of the 5 years he signed.

They had concerns that he had more influence over the lockeroom than BoB. Could be an issue if he's encouraging guys to say f**k the cap, get your money or hold out.
There is no devil's advocate. AZ crushed this trade and exploited the idiocy that is BoB. Lynch should've been more proactive, especially considering the discussions of trading Buckner were had back in February.
Would have given them our 31st pick, Pettis, their pick of any running back we have, and a 2021 4th........ would have loved that!

I agree that sometimes relationships are soured to the point of needing to move on, but how the hell is this all they got for him? How do you only get a 2nd for him, and take back David Johnson? Running backs should have almost no trade value, especially one that is has been mediocre as hell for the past two years and has a beefy salary (dude has an $11M cap hit this year, though I'm not sure how much of that HOU is accountable for).

Diggs just got traded for a first. OBJ netted #17 overall and a third-rounder (plus a decent prospect in Jabrill Peppers). Hopkins is probably better than both of them.

So, while I can see BoB deeming the relationship irreconcilable, they have to do better than this.
