So if the Vikings are in full fire sale mode and they blow things up at the end of the season, would you guys want Zimmer as our next defensive coordinator if Saleh moves on to a HC gig or Shannahan decides to try to upgrade?
Some people in here get too technical with low quality and high quality stats. Too many PFF wizards.

The question is: Are they an impact player or not. This guy definitely is an impact player. Could we afford him. Probably not, but with Paraag all things are possible.

from a coverage standpoint I think we'd have to get new personnel

No!

Kocurek would be a good choice.

Good choice for what? Kocurek only knows how to coach DL.

honestly I would rather go for quinn for DC since our system is basically trying to do what he did in seattle.

No thanks. Saleh has actually done a good job evolving the Seattle scheme. We don't want to go backwards and run the outdated 1.0 version of the Seattle cover 3 4-3 under. Biiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiig no thanks.

IF we're moving on from Saleh, I want a clear and obvious update. ie Vic Fangio.

I thought I saw he's on a 12mil 1 yr deal. But I do question how they can afford this too.

I mean following this year he's going to require at least close to 20 million if they want to keep him

Good move for Baltimore, but it doesn't address the elephant in the room: Greg Roman's scheme is not a Super Bowl offense.

Neither Saleh or Fangios defense got us the W in the superbowl. The only DC that ran a defense similar to the what we run now shutdown a peyton manning lead offense, think that was the year he broke all those records too. Basically won the game and gave RW his chip. I really love fangio too, but I think with the players we have right now I'd rather give quinn a DC shot, but theyre really close.

The question is, would Quinn want to coach below Shanahan? I'm sure he blames the super bowl loss on him. If I recall Matt Ryan threw Shanny under the bus too.

That defense also had a prime Sherman, Earl Thomas, Kam Chancellor, Bobby Wagner and a beastly pass rush. Give any number of defensive coaches that lineup and they'll be able to call a pretty damn good game too.

True. We could call a game with those players. Those pass rushers in Avril and Bennett were insane
No way to Dan Quinn

Was getting nervous for a second that these guys might make AFC noise, but yes....

Glad we don't have that problem anymore.
